Use Evra to get Vidal/Pogba. lol

Evra + Nani + Cash for Pogba and Vidal would be the most mental transfer of all time. :D

On a serious note, no news from Brazil about Everton Ribeiro or the guy we kinda own but don't (striker I think, can't remember his name).

I wouldn't want to sell Evra for the 2014/2015 season. Evra has a lot to teach Shaw imo. Plus I'd want Evra to be our captain this season.

Evra is going nowhere. We'd be stupid to let our only true leader and captain be used as some bargaining chip.

Bruno Gomez.

Janmaat, De Vrij, Martins Indi, Blind, Sneijder, Robben, Depay.

Ron Vlaar? or Fer next?

Fecking 'ell!

When they say Manchester United have made an enquiry for all the Dutch WC squad - they probably mean , every morning when they come down for breakfast, LVG asks each of them, "And how are you this morning?"

Either that or Woodward has taken a look at the Dutch team, and thought to himself "Van Gaal must like these guys, he's chosen them for his World Cup squad", then proceeds to phone every one of their clubs.

Be funny if he phoned himself to enquire about the services RVP.

Seriously, I think it's obviously just an easy story to put out there.

He's more likely to be on the bench than be captain.

Fully agree with that, but the captain needs not play everytime. I'm guessing Vidic played less than 25-30 games this past season for us. Plus other captaincy material is fairly shite.

Rooney - who tried to leave twice? van Persie - who's been here two years? Carrick - who doesn't seem to have leadership qualities?

I'd like to give the captaincy to either Jones or Rafael but neither of them have a guaranteed place on the starting XI, as both of them remain injured more than half a season. Next best choice de Gea, but I 14/15 season is too early for him.

Therefore, if Evra stays - he should be made captain. He's vice-captain right now anyways.

We are the big dogs of this transfer shit now, I see no reason why we shouldn't take any rumour from here on in as complete gospel.

The rumour is simply that Juve have offered him a 2 year deal to join them.

Doesn't mean we'll sell, or he'll want to leave.

Oh yes I know that, but it doesnt make any sense anyways. Juve love their free transfers, pre contract in January is the more obvious end to it.

I just find the link/article amusing

Dunno why Juve would need him anyway when they have Asamoah who's quality and better than Evra now, unless they planned on moving Asamoah back into midfield.

You need your captain as a first choice for me, not a player who might not even get a game off the bench - how often do you sub your left back?

Vidic missed games with injury and because we had CL midweek. That won't happen this year. No doubt Evra will play games but I suspect the new deal was put in place in case the Shaw deal fell through.

Shaw has been bought to play - LVG likes youth, he cost big money and is arguably the better player anyway.

RVP will be captain in my opinion. LVG trusts him, seems to get on well with him personally and it would mean he has "his" player right in the heart of the dressing room.

Don't see how long he's been at the club being relevant - we could have half the team next year as players who have been at the club a lesser amount of time. Regardless - this is a new era, the old guard are gone, there's no logical reason he wouldn't get the job. He might have won a World Cup before the season starts and has the experience.

Right the Dutch World Cup squad, have we been linked with them yet Checklist:

Yes: Vlaar, Blind, De Vrij, Martins Indi, Robben, Sneijder, De Jong, Janmaat, Clasie, Depay. Total: 10.

No: Krul, Cillessen, Vorm, De Guzman, Verheagh, Veltman, Kongolo, Kuyt, Lens, Fer, Wijnaldum, Huntelaar. Total: 12

Asamoah, when I watched Juve this season, played more as an attacker. They're short on quality players in the attacking third. Makes sense to me.

Add de Guzman onto the yes list. I remember a brief mention of him linked to us.
I can't believe journalists get paid to do that. Sometimes it seems the easiest job in the world.

The way he says that last part like van Persie was completely out of form... He got 19 goals in 28 matches.

Nah apparently he didn't play at all last season and just sat in a hotel room scheming how to remove Moyes like the evil bastard he is. Didn't score any goals either. Only the hard-working, English bulldog, heart of lion, Wayne Rooney scored the goals.

According to some people anyway. ;)

Think he means the service he'll get from the rest of the team will probably easily land him on 30 goals.
