Yes. I hear he faded in the second half but what I saw was solid. Took it off the back four and got it into the right areas time and time again, something Jones has never done. But then it's not fair to compare a defender to a midfielder.

Clearly doesn't suit his style of play. I'd love to see him at Old Trafford, but I really don't mind. Van Gaal knows who suits his system best. No point plopping an elite player in for the sake of it if he doesn't match the tactics.

Hummels is a waste of money. He looks like he would be strong, but he isnt. Hes a ball playing CB who isnt strong enough to be a CB. We should be looking at players like Mangala and Benatia or Varane if possible.

We've been linked with Miranda from Atletico. Maybe him? Difficult to say at the moment, but I think it was a reliable Arsenal journalist that first broke the news that we'd agreed terms with Vermaelan, so wouldn't be surprised to see that go through.

and if you are referring to mangala then yes hes better than sakho, just less experienced. sakhi plays ina better league which obviously goes in his favour

Sakho... Mangala hasn't played at all, even when they've made substitutions at centre back he still hasn't come on.
Mangala hasn't been starting so I dunno what you're asking him to check & anyway, there's no way Mangala is better than Hummels.
Going to be interesting to see who the next target will be, I wouldn't of thought any more signings will be made until after the WC has finished. Unless the player in question isn't in Brazil
i was referring to varane when i wrote that. mangala plays for a porto side that has underperformed last season while sakho played for high flying liverpool playing in a harder league. mangala is a better CB though.
I'm not sure that he can really come out and say that he's ageeed terms with another club when he's contracted to Arsenal. Who knows,it could be complete rubbish. Time will tell.
I watch Hummels week in and week out. hes prone to errors and is weak against physical forwards. if we want a replacement for vidic then hummels is not your guy.

I know, I'm not saying Hummels is our guy as for the £40m+ it'd cost to get him I don't think he's worth it, I agree when you're saying he's a bit overrated as he's too prone to errors of judgement sometimes. Saying that, he's still better than Mangala.
Well the first person you mentioned was Mangala, and as Sakho also plays left sided centre half surely it should have been blatant who I was on about, so clearly no need for the "have you been watching football lately" BS comment.
Varane would obviously be the ideal signing as he's probably the best young centre back in the world, but he's at the current Champions of Europe so it's not going to happen.
Presumably more tremendously talented pretty boys are being lined up. Herrera and Shaw will all look good advertising noodles with Adnan, De Gea and Mata. Griezmann fits that bill. Probably Sanchez or Reus too.
