They don't at all, why would you think that? 30M isn't enough for a team that don't need money.

Ive read multiple reports that PSG were going to move Lavezzi and Veratti to get Pogba and Hazard in.
I think 30M is enough for a young midfielder that isnt 1st choice for PSG but prices these days are nuts....especially once we get involved.

He is first choice though, only thing that kept him out a bit last season was injury.

I don't know where your reports come from but you should stop reading them.
PSG see Pogba as Verratti replacement because Thiago Motta is injury prone and old. So if Pogba comes, he is gonna play instead of Veratti and Veratti instead of Thiago Motta.

In a midfield Matuidi-Verratti- Pogba.

Edit: Unless the Juventus really want to take back Verratti, in replacement of Pogba.

That's why our transfers are taking so long to complete, Moyes has kidnapped Ed.

Conspiracy hat on:

Why would Barcelona bother leaking who he is close to? Maybe to encourage another party to up their game/offer?

I raised this very point last week (well, from Fabregas' point-of-view).

Very peculiar that his team are happy to leak his move to Chelsea is imminent. It has to be an attempt to entice either Arsenal, City or United into action.

How would Peter Reid know and why would people be asking him?

In fairness Peter Reid was part of Sport Relief (coach of the Eng celebs I think), Mou was manger for ROW. Some guy from JLS was interviewed before game and said Mou had told him some of Chelsea plans and he was "very excited about it". So putting 2 and 2 together Jose has been blabbing to anyone that will listen who Chelsea are close to.

Probably not a done deal, but I reckon Jose is extremely confident it's close.

Probably just confirmed Torres would be leaving.

what a shit idea, for someone who resisted goal line tech for so long, he does come up with some really stupid ideas.

I don't know about that. So when we get one of those corner fouls (maybe a shirt pull or a nudge by the defender) do managers make a call and get a penalty every time? and if so we will get 10 pens a game, if refs were made to give those on challenges they will have to give them for anything.

I guess players would stop making silly fouls in the box if it panned out like that.

I don't think it's a terrible idea but I don't think it's needed either. Sounds a bit like Blatter trying to come up with something sensible to save his job.

I assume it'd be like Basketball. The call can't actually be changed/appealed unless it has been made. Therefore decisions can be overturned if someone gets a penalty from a dive whereas decisions can't be overturned if they weren't given at all. It might lead to more penalties being given however as referees can then overturn it if someone appeals.

It's debatable, but I think the idea is to challenge referees direct calls like a penalty or off side. It's a weak argument but it can make things interesting.

Where would the line be drawn on this? Something like offsides are almost impossible to pull back and can be just as important as a penalty shout. If a striker is clean through one on one with a keeper and flagged offside and play stops how can you challenge it? Basically you could have a situation where human error has cost one team a goal chance and another one where you get a reprieve from it. Just leave the game alone.

Wrong offside call.? Maybe referee can award a free kick or corner.?

Flag goes up for offside - play on until the ball dies (goal, goalkick, throw, whatever), or the opposition regain posession - if a goal is scored, check for offside and rule accordingly, if he was offside freekick from where it happened. Clock/time? Feck it and add it at the end if need be.

Simple.

EDIT: If the opposition regain posession, play-on ignoring the free kick (1 less stoppage in play).

Or,

Regain the ball, take a freekick from where the offside happened if it was offside.

No idea how to figure out that part actually, so perhaps not so simple.

I like option 1 of the edit.

So basically every time there is an offside we would have to play on until a stop or change in possession just in case one of the managers wants to challenge? That would be a cluster feck.

Good idea, regardless of the source. Football refereeing is unspeakably bad, and becoming worse. This is a bit like a drowning man clutching at a straw, but it might improve things. At least it offers hope that some of the more blatant injustices can be rectified.
