Feck this shit. Is van Gaal second coming of Moyes? He arguably started worse than him.

It was one game, plus we didn't spend £27m on Fellaini

Yes, but I was against Moyes from the start, even the year's before when he was mooted as a replacement for SAF I knew it would be a disaster. I have full confidence in LvG.

So what's the difference? Why is it 'embarrassing' to criticise LVG but it wasn't Moyes? They were/are both manager of Manchester United and neither has achieved anything for us so far.

Whether you like it or not, LVG is not immune to criticism.

Are you seriously asking the difference between criticizing LVG and criticizing Moyes?

Your stance from the beginning doesn't give you more right to disagree with a manager's decision. Even SAF did a lot of things that we disagreed with. You can absolutely adore a manager and disagree with decisions and vice versa.

Because LvG is clearly a manger worthy of United, his record confirms this. Moyes never was & never will be, his record confirms this.

Anyway, meet MTR, he may be your kinda guy ;)

He can't play in any of the three forward positions. Like I've explained previously, the winger forward positions in the 433 are specialist, lvg himself even said so. Welbeck would have to stay wide left and not drift inside. That's just not Welbeck's game.

If they're specialist position then we have one individual in the whole team who can play left wing, perhaps, who is Januzaj. Young always drifts in, always slows down play, to set up a cross with his right foot. Valencia has pace, but is 100% predictable. Sometimes the theory doesn't fit the actual world. And the actual players won't fit a system like that down to a tee.

Saying that, even if we had actual specialist wingers in both positions, Welbeck could of course play as a front man.

Another point I saw raised here: Hernandez can of course get on the end of crosses, but do people think Welbeck offers anything less in that regard?

While acknowledging that this is a Twitter discussion thread, it should also be noted this is the Transfer forum, so discussion regarding our line ups or injury situation for this weekend's match should be reserved for the United forum.

What a load of bollocks. Who sets the barometer on who is worthy or not, you?

Look at LVG's history and, whilst there have been some highs, there have also been some incredible lows. This is beside the point anyway, we are allowed to criticise him. We criticised a superior manager in SAF.

A lot of these comments wouldn't look out of place at RAWK let's sack LVG already then we can go through yet more changes, we've not even played our second game of the season and people are comparing him to Moyes. Everyone wanted change and now we have it people knew at the start when we hired LVG that he didn't like buying Marquee signings so it's no surprise that we haven't/won't.

To be fair, only a few idiots are saying anything like that.

Re-opening soon, folks. Please, let's keep the discussion to transfer related tweets only. Thanks.

I don't get why we didn't just let his contract end.
perhaps because we didn't want to see him signing for juve on a free after they nicked pogba from us cheaply.
what if we allowed his contract to expire and he had a great world cup? There was a good chance that nani would have a good world cup. It didn't materialise but the chances were there and the club couldn't afford to see that
