I'm beginning to think so myself. Lovely little player but there's a reason why Jose sold and why he was always on the fringe of the Spanish squad.

Don't think of this as "turning" on Juan but we really could have used that money better especially if we were keeping Kagawa and needed to upgrade on the wings. Adnan will be great but he'll take time to develop. We really need a Hazard type player which I think Di Maria is (type in terms of impact and contribution he can make and who is more versatile).
Moyes was desperate to sign a top player, so his position didn't really come into the equation until his first match where Moyes didn't have a fecking clue how to fit him in.

Yeah, it's not like he got Chelsea's player of the season (twice), or that we would have snapped Chelsea's arm off for him at the start of last season.
Moyes didn't know what to do with him, that's why we haven't seen the best of him in a United shirt.

He's a great player, he just doesn't fit that well into our side as long as Rooney is an automatic starter.

Raised their offer to 30m Euros? I thought Roma initially wanted 35m Euros? Then that should be around £24-25m? That is an even better price. feck me!

Fabregas in January and Di Maria this summer would have been better for sure.

Was buying Mata a mistake or Not selling Rooney as SAF wanted.
I think we needed Rooney more than we needed Mata at that point in time. I am happy Mata is here even though it might look like its not the best fit for him here. Im sure LVG will make it work.

That seems bit of a real madrid, City, Chelsea type move and bit ridiculous given he is a terrific talent and will really grow this season if given game time.
Nothing ridiculous at all about it, on one hand we want to sign the best players, on the other, we don't as it will stop our young talent coming through. Januzej is now an established first team player, he was one of the few players who played well last Saturday and he has shown in the past that he can play in several formations and adapt his style to best suit the team. If he continues that form into the remainder of the season then he will get picked.

Why does that utter twunt Balo have to come back here?

I'm not the kind to be vindictive, but I'd quite like to see his leg broken, and his career ended.

Rojo should do it, and he'd instantly become a club legend in my book.

What makes you say Rooney will be an automatic starter? Granted he's the Captain, however that means nothing in today's football. If Rooney's in bad form I have no doubt that he will be dropped, just like any other player in the squad.
Nowadays Having a Club captain and a captain on the pitch are now two different things. We haven't had a proper Captain for years (one that plays all the time)

I'd prefer Rooney over Mata then and now.

In what position though ?

I'd Say Mata is clearly a more balanced #10 than Rooney. And RVP is better at 9.

Rooney is more 9 and a half sort of. I rate Rooney high but him as a 10 doesn't work. This role in 3-5-2 suits him very much though.

Hope that he's not an automatic starter especially if we get more performances like saturday's. Moyes didn't have the balls to drop him or sub him, but I'm sure LVG will.

Rooney hasn't had a season like Mata's two for Chelsea in a long time. It's debatable whether he's ever been as individually good.

As for your earlier comment in regards to Mata and the Spanish squad, he's been a regular fixture in that squad for a long time, getting a fair amount of game time.

I'm certain that he will, one thing we can't afford this season is passengers. The more talented players we get in the better, Di Maria would do for starters.

Sort yourself out, you total melt.

Everybody was happy when we were buying Mata, now all of a sudden buying him is regarded as a mistake..

He is a great player and we should be happy to have him but no, Jose tricked us or sthing..

Did he shag your wife? Get a grip man

No, actually everybody wasn't happy. Some of us said we didn't need him, and that buying him wouldn't solve any of our problems.
Of course he wouldnt nor he did solve any of our problems but as I said it's great to have him nevertheless. Us not buying players where needed is another story.

Typical for here. Eventually, when the team is functioning and winning matches then the Mata haters will keep quiet. But they'll wait their chance...
I love seeing him on the ball for United. I just think that some people hate Moyes so much they have to hate Mata as well.

This is not Mata vs Rooney but what's best for United. Given our current personnel, I think Rooney would be a better fit if we had to choose that's all. Mata is a better #10 than Wayne but why duplicate personnel there (at that price; money is not an unlimited resource) when we have Shinji? Mata is a bit sh1t defensively and that worries me in bigger games.

Of course Mata gets games time in the national side but not for any games that really matter. Like I said, fringe. He appears but who remembers anything he did?

Do you just like making stuff up to suit your anti transfer agenda? It was very apparent that Rooney, RVP and Mata don't fit well into the same side. That means nobody wants Mata anymore does it? Mata haters
