The twitter concept of people retweeting made up stuff is little more than what the press already do on most of web site like tribalfootball etc. One site publishes something that is completely unsubstantiated or outdated, then others in need of content, promptly publish it as if its legitimate news. Twitter is basically the same thing, except ordinary citizens are doing it.
