1) just heard from my source at Carrington (the Utd version, not massive club Citeh version) some interesting Sneijder news...will post shortly

2) I dont think i've been involved in any windups, i know someone who works a Carrington, they called A.Young & De Gea right so far

3) freshly into my inbox this morning : Heard today that this deal is back on and to be done this week - what a merry go round!

4) £33.7M and £200k per week for 4 years with a 5th year option?

5) i accept no liability for any truth/mistruth in this information - i am merely passing it on. as i've said to others, good source so far,but you know never theres so much BS flying around.

Hmm.

Guy seems genuine, someone is winding him up though I reckon.

I make the following comments on this (and it might apply equally to any other Twatter spaculation).

1. Who would have access to such detailed information?

2. Why would they tell you, knowing you are going to tell everybody immediately?

Access would either have to be top executives at the club and there is no way they would start blabbing about this, just no way. Otherwise it could be a secretary who is typing up documents or some one fairly junior in the finance team who has been given various calculations/scenarios to work out. Either way, they would be risking instant dismissal for gross misconduct for giving sensitive information to outside sources. Jobs are too hard to come by these days and working at OT is dream/privilege for many people, so they wouldn't want to put that at risk.

That's why I don't believe any of the spaculation that comes out and the only reason that some of these turn out to be correct is that the law of averages says they are going to get the odd one right.

I've never understood "ITK's" at all. I always ask myself, how would they know short of being the player, his agent or someone high up within the club who'd know that type of information.

Baffles me everytime.

It seems there are three or four hundred people in the room every time one of these deals get done. Either that or the old six degrees of separation thing is nonsense; we're all clearly one internet 'reliable friend of a friend' away from each other.

Plenty of people are involved in transfers - lawyers, adminitration staff in the club, club doctors, people involved in any actual money transaction etc. Clubs employ hundreds of people and outsource work to various places.

Its how newspapers get information as to who's going where and do on occaision get it right.

Obviously a lot of people ppost nonsense in an effort to appear important or get a bite, but clearly some people within the club know whats going on and info can leak out.

things do get passed on though. I remember asking a steward at Eric's testimonial in 1998 if we were going to get Yorke or not and he knew we were definitely signing him

Well city are asking him to drop his wage demands as well.

There are some good wums arouind atm. This one's been "owned up to" already. Sorry lads.

Since the Sneijder thread is closed, can I post an article here that's in tomorrow's papers about him. It might be bollocks but in in a paper and I'm sure some people would like to read it.

Nurse commenting it's unlikely but that's just Nurse.

I did ask for the Sneijder thread (on a Manchester United Forum in the Transfer Section) to be reopened for the remaining of the transfer window but my plea seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Nurse makes me laugh:

My gut feeling right now is that it won't happen, but I get the feeling that things could change by 11pm on 31st August. Tick tock...

So he has 2 feelings. One if he's wrong and one if he's right. I guess now he can always say that he told us so!

That Sun piece is another nothing article, almost as if it was fabricated with the intention of selling papers, surely not?

Stop being so cynical. They wouldn't do that.

11.27: And from the twitter account of celebrity journalist Darren Lewis: 'Harry Redknapp confirms Daniel Levy negotiating the transfer of Emmanuel Adebayor from Manchester City.'

An improvement?

On Crouch and Pavlyuchenko? Most certainly. But he's a cnut and that's always a danger.

Yeah, the cnut factor is why I asked. I suppose it depends on whether he goes on loan, or on a permanent. He seemed to settle in and work hard at Real, when he realised he was playing for his future. With the guarantee of a long term contract, I am not sure he will apply himself in the same way.
