Can't see Wenger buying 2 defenders, it would cost £30+ million for both. Both are very good defenders and either player would really improve Arsenal.

My thoughts precisely. Despite my anger at us not signing anyone this summer, we have shifted deadwood relatively well - or at least are about to. Wenger described Eboue, Bendtner and Almunia as 'on the verge of leaving', so shifting Squillaci doesn't seem too unlikely.

If its a story claiming that the deal is 'difficult' or that we think Inter are asking beyond what we're prepared to pay, it would just be baseless speculation anyway. I don't see how they could for certain rule out the move and thus in turn how they could claim it was a "massive story".

This whole thing is really boring me now.
We are not exaclty in a rush to make any moves. We are just back from tour, I presume Gill hasnt sat down with Fergie yet, with everyone visiting their families over the weekend.
I'd guess with all the matches/activities taking place this week, a meeting wont take place until end of this week or start of next. And it is not just a meeting on transfer targets, but if we are selling/loanig out anymore players etc.
So all these news stories mean feck all really. That's not to say we are or are not going to sign anyone. It's just a simple observation.
