Despite Gervinho training with Arsenal he has still not signed contract. Clubs still negotiating on payment. (L'Equipe)

How the hell can he be training with Arsenal when he's not yet signed for them!?

He can do whatever the feck he wants, as long as it doesn't violate registration rules, etc. Like he can't play an official/competitive game for him until he registers with the FA or something like that.

I said on @thisisatleti that Kun had been seen in a hospital where Real players undergo medicals. Looks like our nightmare is coming true

Shouldn't he be still in Argentina for Copa America.

And Zurich is 3 hour drive away from milan....

And in three hours, from Manchester Airport, you can be in Milan...

Does it make that rumour we're going to buy Sneijder more reliable, because Zurich is 3 hour drive away from Milan?

Where did you get that?

Rumours flying around at the time United sold him that they have a first option to buy him or a share of the sell-on price if United decline buy-back option. I read somewhere that it was as much as 50% of the fee.

Downing hands in transfer request, fee of £20m rumored to be agreed with Liverpool.

£85,000,000 spent and only Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson, Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing to show for it.

Yeah but it's okay because they got 50m for Torres

People are laughing because the signings Liverpool are making are not that of a PL winning side. So what? They're not on that level! They've made some decent signings and have strengthened the team. They're obviously not a threat to us, but I'd be pretty content if I was a [realistic] 'Pool fan. They haven't had any brilliant signings and their summer hasn't been anything to write home about, but it hasn't been farcical which seems to be what some think it has been.

Surely in their position they should be buying to improve. Especially if they are gonna spend £85m.

Good Post and good points.

I prefer our signings but then our objectives are slightly different. We are convinced that the base of our side can win the PL again as it did last year with a central midfield that was slightly diminished from what we would have wanted it to be.

We want to challenge for the CL and challenge Barcelona so the signings of De Gea, Young, & (optimistically Schneider and/or Nasri) should help us do that.

Liverpool will be a force next season but without the mental know how to put a actually win a title together. Plus they'll be challenging with the likes of Arsenal & Manchester City. Still feel that the title will be between us and Chelsea - but could be wrong.

Does Ogden from the Telegraph ever produce anything original? He just rehashes the latest rumours and posts them in a non-committal way. It's like he's trying to beat an anti-plagiarism program.

Paying the best part of 50 million for three players that aren't top 4 standard doesn't seem like particularly good business to me. Even when you discount the ridiculous fees, those players are barely better than what Liverpool already have.

Harsh on Bramble, he's been quite decent at Sunderland

re: Sneijder

@Darren_Can
I expect he's just trying to throw people off the scent. There's definitely been talks
