The Manchester United want to close this week Thiago

The English has decided to embark on the player, after appraisal reports on the behavior and habits of the player away from the pitch.

The future of Thiago Alcantara red paint every day United. The Manchester wants to close this week operation, which could be around 22 million euros. The English has decided to embark on the player, once received and evaluated the reports on the behavior and habits of the player away from the pitch. On the pitch, I knew all about him, for a little over three years that follow the track. Never been so shot and club executives understand English that Thiago is an ideal time-just proclaimed MVP of the Under-21 to hatch permanently.
It also seeks to accelerate the transfer because the United begins next Monday (July 1) the preseason and coach David Moyes wants to know exactly what players overlooking the new course. Week thus decisive in the case Thiago. The money that Barcelona midfielder from entering its might go straight to another operation: Thiago Silva. Vilanova has already indicated to the direction you want to sport center regardless PSG.
from As.
It backs up the behaviour/character enquiries claim that Hunter made.

I personally would prefer this thread to be tweets from reputable people rather than just every Tom dick and Harry. When I say reputable people I mean journalists or people tweeting articles from other countries etc.

But come on, some cider wannabe posting that shite honestly? We might as well just let cider run amok.

Because they've proved their credibility beyond doubt...

Apart from height, for a defender aged 25 he doesn't seem all that composed to me based on that (on the defending front).. but anyone seen him more regularly?

More reliable than some random twitter creating by some teenager in their bedroom. Maybe I should create a twitter and write up some bullshit so you guys can all quote it in here.

Not everything from twitter should be posted, and common sense should be applied, that guy chasing Howard Nurse with his bullshit being a prime example, but at the same time most journos are not all that reliable either. They print knowingly false stories on the behalf of agents who want their players linked with certain clubs.

Can't be 50% tax. Bayern didn't pay €60m for Martinez, did they?
We had good lawyers ;). There were the same rumours about crazy taxes from 20% to 50% when we signed Martinez. We found a way around it. I think Jojojo explained it a few days ago. 27m would still be a good deal, imo. But I doubt United will have to pay more than the 18m.

Bayern got round it by loaning the money to Martinez to buy his contract out (so no tax was payable) and then ofc. giving him the money to pay off the loan or whatever (cancelling the loan).

Easy to hire the best when you shit on the other teams in the league in revenues. :p

Can you please direct me to the post?

Not a twitter rumor but from the gossip column on the official website:

25/6/13: Nemanja Vidic has been photographed on holiday in Ibiza andFutbol Balear suggests the United skipper is a summer target for AC Milan.

The fee would be €27m if Thiago was to buy himself out of his contract, reason being if we give him the €18m to pay his release clause the fee will be classed as income, so this would have to include 52% tax on top. I can't see this being the fee we pay, foreign clubs tend to pay the VAT on top of the clause fee to strike a deal and hopefully Barca will accept that. The VAT in Spain is 21%, so that fee would be just under €22m.

It's not income if we loan him the money though is it? Or whatever way Bayern got round it.

Well, the problem is that for something to be a loan the money must actually be repaid. In the end it would result in Thiago paying for his transfer himself. I know what you mean but the answer surely isn't that simple.

He needs to speak to Jimmy Carr's accountant.

I wasn't fully aware of how the Javi Martinez deal was done, until today. Just had a quick dig around and found some bits on it:
Statute of the FIFA Article 17.2 comes into action which paves way for Bayern in their capture. The article states that the buyout clause must be paid by the player and his new club together and there is no obligation on the new club and respective player to pay taxation monies.

The transaction is exempt from VAT following the precedent set by Ronaldo’s transfer to Real Madrid 10 years ago. Liga de Futbol Profesional has it in good accord that binding the specified payment of the clause; clubs are exempt from this tax as it is considered compensatory in nature.

On the other hand, the proceedings are exempt from income tax depending on FIFA’s Article on Players' Status. Bayern together with the player will make payment of the clause, and hence, it will be a transaction between two clubs, two legal entities.

Since there is no individual involved, no income tax will be levied on the whole deal. The personal income tax applies only to individuals and therefore it is inapplicable in the current scenario.

So it sounds like the FIFA rule allows a player & club to jointly pay off the clause fee, which then results in the transfer being exempt from Tax or VAT. Nice work Bayern - so hopefully we can do strike a deal for €18m.

Yep, so according to that article the release clause should not be a problem.

Just down to Thiago to pack his bags and tell Barca he's off to sunny Manchester. :nervous:

 Soon we're unstoppable. We only need to find good bavarian german teachers. It sucks that Guardiola hired a Dortmund fan and then messed up the first words at the press conference. He really should have started with "Servus" and not with "Guten Tag".

Can you please direct me to the post?
I'm incredibly bad at using the search, so I really can't, but gaz1185 posted some good stuff about it. Spanish release clauses are weird.

looking at the rumours and how it would all fit together in muppetland
