Well certainly but then you'll have those say we were never interested in player X. There's no guarantee we'll sign players either. Deals can always fall through (i.e. Lucas & Hazard).

Let me just clear up something before I sleep. I get a lot of tweets asking who's coming but I can never confirm for obvious reasons.

Manchester United @ManutdRedCafe
1) being work policy 2) being the way things are done and also the prestige of the club. I am also a fan of the summer transfer window

All deals are first reported on our club website. And all I can say is there will definitely be fresh faces next season + a stronger squad.

Stay away from ITK's. Goodnight.

Seems genuine but who knows? One thing is for sure, I will never do this again. That took way too much effort!

So basically, after those 4 tweets... he still hasn't gave us any information. We'd always expect fresh faces, and usually the squad gets stronger anyway. What a WUM.

So turned out the win-win situation (either Thiago joins or cider gets banned) turned out into neither Thiago joining and Cider still allowed to spout his bollocks? Well the day couldnt get any worse.

Oh the Thiago thread the only reason I woke up everyday got closed as well. Thanks guys

Well if he actually works for the club he cant. Not sure what's so shocking here.

I hope not. The Thiago thread was just a mess. What little information there was on the developments was just swamped by pages and pages of shit.

The Thiago thread became what this thread was - it was meant to soak up all the fake/questionable Twitter stuff so that the proper discussions over players could remain.

It was a complete mess. Started off as quite a nice muppet thread, then descended into lots of unfunny bollocks. It was the inevitable consequence of a genuine midfielder saga after all these years.

I blame the mods. After all those years without buying a midfielder it was only natural that the Thiago thread would turn into that mess. An updates only thread was necessary. We had one once during a transfer saga, I liked it.

People became parodies of themselves thinking its funny to spam a lot of nonsense just for the sake of it in the Thiago thread.

Can't be arsed at listening to the thing but on twitter he says that Thiago wants to come to United and he just needs to inform Barca of his decision. So nothing new really, just re-enforcing previous rumours.

Not really, according to Hunter he was basically making a point that he didn't agree with the signing as they don't need Neymar as well as Messi - so his response was that they can now sell Messi.

Yeah his point is clearly questioning the Neymar deal. He's doing so by being a bit pedantic and implying Messi can be sold as the two players will clash.

I thought the Thiago thread was funny. I thought it was full of people having a good laugh. I didnt see much abuse etc in the thread, lots of banter though. It seems to me the thread got closed simply because a mod didnt like seeing people having a laugh

Agree, very RAWK like closing of the thread that was the center of attention and amusement at the moment. If a admin takes away that much fun, entertainment and excitement about a signing from the users on a forum, it is a poor decision, no?

His opinion is more important than the rest of us I guess :wenger:

 You're very easily entertained.

Maybe because it has been the most active thread for the past few weeks, constantly on top of the recent thread home page, and very little of it was actually any concrete discussion about Thiago? It was basically taking over the caf:lol:

No, no, it was simply me being jealous of them having fun.

RT @BFairthorne Despite Barca's last ditch attempt to keep Thiago his father was adamant on United move. Personal terms with player all agreed now. Would expect Thiago - United to be completed in next two weeks. Club have given up on the idea of keeping him.

Sultans post in the Thiago thread is more pointless than the ones that causes its closure, betting odds mean feck all

If there's basically nothing stopping him from joining United now, why two weeks? Seems like an awfully long time to complete something that should be straightforward. Unless Barca are still haggling over the add-ons that they can reportedly add?

When he returns from holiday perhaps?

Just going along with the Times report yesterday that said we want him in before the 10th July, when the players fly out for the tour, at the latest. If the player definitely wants to come, then it'll be done before then in my opinion.

I guess a combination of Moyes not starting until July 1st and Thiago being on holiday is what will slow the deal down, but I hope the reports of Mazinho/Thiago being adamant on the United move are true. But the longer we leave it, the more I worry Barca will talk him round. Get him signed quickly and stop it form happening!
