Shame, I like him as a player and it would be a good buy for Liverpool. Not a typical top 4-purchase by all means, but certainly a good player to replace either Skrtel or Agger if he's able to step up.

Coates looks like another signing to be down the pecking order if this is true.

Would rather see him for Everton, as he's been linked to both the Liverpool-clubs as well as Fulham lately. Would think he'd prefer Everton as well, as I think he would develope better there, and it's a club who are in a different world in terms of stability.

I severely doubt it.

For a Norwegian there's United, Liverpool and the rest, so the gulf in prestige is huge. Furthermore, he's not one to shy away from a challenge. As a rookie he bet his team mates that he wouldn't lose a single header against a freaky, ginger beast of a striker named Peter Kovacs. He almost made it, but not quite, and as a result he had to sport a ginger barnet himself for the rest of the season.

According to DailyMail, he's just going for trial.

Well he's gone to the right place then...

He's a United fan.

RBFlemma: "Molde deny reports suggesting they have accepted a bid from Liverpool. ... Am told Southampton is a more likely destination for Vegard Forren, but this story will most likely take yet another turn :)"

Yeah, apparently the Marseille Sporting director has said fee agreed with QPR, Newcastle and another club.

Also said 'the QPR coach has a good reputation'.

Yep, was just going to say. They are going at it big time, it's quite pathetic really. Hamann does come across as a bit of a know-it-all, but Barton is a massive cnut.

Rob Beal ‏@robbealparis
#Galatasaray trying to convince #Sneijder to go there. #thfc will sign for €8m or I will eat my hat. Been done for days. (don't have hat).

No idea who this Beal character is or what credibility he has ... but it all adds to the fun.

Striker overload. Bad time for Will Keane to get injured. He's another fantastic talent.

What is Fergie going to do with all of them?

Ah.. I thought it was next month..
He's still 16. Bloody hell. I feel old.

This Barton Hamann thing is getting out of control. Hamann needs to leave it, he'll end up with the sack from the Beeb.

Think they are looking to offload him.

Crazy. I'd have thought it would be more sensible to send Coates out on loan like they did Carroll. He is only 22 after all so could still turn out to be a decent buy for them. Probably not a starter though.

It's ridiculous the amount of money they waste.

Does anyone think QPR is going to be like Malaga where the owners after a certain period are still going to be there but wont be able to afford these wages that they are spewing out now?

According to respected french radio RMC, Atletico Madrid's Falcao has agreed to move to Chelsea next June (via @federicocasotti)

Confirmed that Forren is in England tonight, was on the flight to Manchester. Try out with Liverpool tomorrow is the rumour, but also that Southampton is close to getting a bid accepted for him.

Time for Liverpool to throw another fifty million in then.
