Ronaldo's transfer didn't start this. His price was actually acceptable - reigning world player of the year and without a doubt one of the best two players in the world. These youngsters (Hazard and Lucas) have proved nothing but are demanding comparable fees.

Of course we didn't do anything wrong; like every club in the history of the game we wanted what we felt he listed was worth. It's agreeing to pay these fees that does it.

Ronnie was a brand much like Beckham before but also a rediculously talented player. The shirt sales alone make a whopper return coupled with what he brings to a team. 80 millions was a bargain, I personally think he could have broke 100mil if we wanted it.

Real we're gumming to get their hands on him.

£15m on Joe Allen is absolutely ridiculous money. Swansea signed Michu for £2m. There will be an interesting discussion on who had a better season when we get to May.

I hope the way Rodgers has behaved comes back and bites him in the arse.

@Drasdo And now hearing rumours #MUFC #IPO likely to price below range. Could be interesting! Mind you I heard rumour RVP was having medical y'day.

Robbie Earle has said on ESPN that ever since RvP understood United, City and Juventus were interested in him. He only ever wanted #mufc.

@ManUtdStuff Breaking: Manchester United IPO priced at $14 per share, below expected range of $16-$20, 16.7m shares sold a total of $233.8m raised.

I want to sign him on FM, but I did that with Hazard, and Moura :(

I signed kagawa, Lucas, muniain and neymar, my inner muppet really took over to make up for us losing out on players in real life  :(

Can't believe there have actually been rumours of a 19m plus Welbeck on loan for a year deal for RvP

I think that would actually be a bit of a deal. A year under Wenger would be fantastic for Welbecks development.

No way it would happen of course.

It would be a great way to neutralise a potential title rival. They get your up and coming striker, you get their established world class one, only when we play each other they can't use the loan player.

Maybe foreign players aren't charmed by the thought of Manchester in contrast to Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Turin, Milan etc. There again it could be the money. We are a great club, but players and their families consider a lot of other things now.

Officials from both AFC and MUFC are locked in talks today to find a solution to the RVP situation, will update on this tonight.

RVP is pushing very hard for his move to MUFC, Wenger still demanding another 5m if he goes to old trafford.

Football Agent ‏@FootballAgent49

Yeah, he has the typical Agent name on Twatter, but he usually posts fairly resasonable and reliable stuff. Believe what you want...

The update will be something like 'MUFC and AFC officials still locked in talks over Robin Van Persie, situation will be resolved within the week'

Fixed

Also, why the feck would a football agent risk his professional credibility by posting ITK info on twitter.

12.5m for Llorente? To be honest, i rather we go for him than v.Persie

That said, i doubt Bilbao would sell him for that amount even if his contract expiring

With only one year left it is possible but I think those Basque players are pretty loyal and he wouldn't leave for free, he'd agree an extension just to secure them a fee if he leaves.

Fergie is not at the game, he did go to Germany. And guess what Arsenal are in Germany too.
