New contract time?

Signed one only last year. Have also got three years left on his current one. Haven't heard of that site before btw, it's bollocks.

Isla and Asamoah are currently undergoing medical for their moves

I'd rather him not coming here. You'd get the feeling he'd do a cesc and return to Barca. It would never happen either way, him coming to us.

All the links last summer suggested that we wouldn't agree to a buy back clause being in Thiago's contract, hence why he signed a new deal at Barca.

Someone said that Raoul had posted on Twitter that this could happen. Anyone have the post of it?

Sylvain Sro (@sylvain_sro), Rédacteur en chef de Stade Rennais Online (@staderennais), posted this yesterday:

I spoke to M'Vila yesterday, he was hesitating among Arsenal & Manchester United. Answer in few days... #expectation

And his answer to the question whether M'Vila would be interested in moving to OT:

Definitely. Ferguson came to Rennes personally few months ago to see him play. And M'vila is very keen on United

Could be nothing, but at least it's not some random dude posting it ;-)

Ahh.. The old favorite.. Player being linked to United to get a better deal elsewhere.

Sorry guys, but my M'Vila message was a joke, kind of experiment.

Shock horror. A nobody on Twatter comes up with fake rumour to build up followers aka "teach people a lesson"

People who try and garner facts from Twitter are are fecking idiots too. They all deserve each other.

Only good thing about twitter is following the manunitedyouth crowd, easiest way to follow ressies and youth.........

and of course to follow Gaz.

Berbatov is trending in Malaga, and a lot of Spanish rumour mills are running with the story - not seen a fee mentioned anywhere

edit: couple of examples:

Malaga linked with a move for Dimitar Berbatov as one of the two strikers to join the club this summer.

@ManUtdStuff
Malaga are willing to offer €6.5million to Manchester United for 31-year-old striker Dimitar Berbatov. #MUFC

(news aggregator, not "itk")

5mill pounds it works out as. Still a bit low. If we got around 8mill it would be great, considering it is his last year in contract and he is free to talk to clubs outside England come Jan, and then leave on a free next summer. take £8mill and leave him be classy elsewhere :(

£6 million for a 31 striker who in his last year of his contract who barely played last season...

Makes you wonder why Fergie didn't sell him this time last season... it was fairly obvious he wasn't going to be playing.

The thing is Malaga are cash rich and they need players of Berbatov's ability if they want to challenge Valencia or go beyond them next season. Surely another club would want Berbatov for £6 million and will start off a bidding war... If not thats a very damning assessment.

Insurance. Had Rooney done a hamstring or something, I doubt he'd have been comfortable with Welbeck and Chicharito as our only fit first team strikers.

Errrr he featured 46 times in the 10-11 season, scoring 26 in all comps. It was the form of Welbeck, and more so Welbecks quick passing game, this season that kept him out of the team. Especially as we tried to play more tippy-tappy. There is no way SAF could have predicted that Berbs would feature only half as much in 11-12.

Theres a definite way. Hernandez ousted him from the team at the end of that season

But SAF had no way to know he would be surplus to requirements, the plan was to rotate but form of others dictated his place on the bench. He only started admitting it after Christmas. Chico was running into his 2nd season and still had to learn, and Welbz was still a young one. Rooney as our only senior striker, and even at that he was dropping deep to replace Scholes for awhile. We wont count Owen, he was there to make up the numbers. Selling Berbs last summer would have been seen as a possible mistake since we potentially wouldnt be signing anyone to replace him. If we sold him and Roo got injured, it wouldnt have been a good place to be.

Anyways wrong thread, so I'll leave it at that.
