Turning on Rangnick

The players were angry at him changing the training times which impacts their 'family time'.

He's lost half the squad already it would seem. Season is a write off. May as well stuck with Carrick.

If the players were to revolut that easily Id rather we sack them off instead.

Happily see many of them leave too tbf. I have no great warmth for most of these charlatans. Most are stealing a living.

No leadership anywhere in this club. Owners, boardroom, manager and captain. We are a laughing stock.

Did I not read there was some issue regarding a re-arrangement of the seating in the club canteen (!!!) something about groups of tables and chairs presumably screwed to the floor that has led to 'cliques'. I mean wtf - would a new interim manager really be involved in decisions such as that? I doubt it very much.

He'll be banning ketchup next.

The way he wants us to play is going to take a lot of time with the squad we have, we’ve got a bunch of lazy overpaid players. Our players have never been asked to press or train as intense as they are now and they don’t like it. We’ve not had managers who have made them work like this manager will want them too. Took klopp a few years to get his Liverpool side, this guy only has a few months because I don’t think he’ll be permanent, I think we need to get ten Haag. I also think we need to go back to a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3… this formation doesn’t suit our players, we’ve got a ton of wide players so why are they being asked to play centrally? Fernandes is our most important player but looks lost in this formation, if this manager isn’t stubborn and can see the problems then he will change it. A 4-3-3 would help us a bit better with controlling games and maybe stop getting outrun. It’s simple things like this that they should be spotting for the money there on, even the fans and a lot of people from the outside can see what needs changing.

Honestly, this! We’ve poached our last two managers from Molde and Spartak Moscow ffs! The squad has problems (many are self inflicted by the system and XI choices, though), but the bottom line is the manager is no more proven than the actual players on the field.

But that’s fine, he’s literally only here to steady the ship until the summer. That’s when we absolutely have to get the right manager.
Go east ! We will try to find the next one even further away. How is the Mongolian championship ?

He surely must have temporarily given up on his philosophy during the festive period - possibly due to the amount of games in a short period.

We need to start seeing a style of play, and fast. It looks identical to Ole currently. That said it’s essential that we sign a midfielder this window. It’s simply impossible to dominate games with two of mctom, Fred, matic in midfield. Won’t work at this level.

AwB having a some kind
We had people defending Ole for over a year, Ralf is in to keep us to ticking over with more cohesion and is already hammered by fans after single digit amount of games

he’s having a rough start with stop/start due to covid and quick turn around in fixtures. He’s human and relied on the wrong players today. But he certainly isn’t the problem.
Absolutely spot on.

2nd rate. Ok.

According to the CAF, Tuchel & Klopp are braindead idiots for ever listening to Ralf & are technically inept themselves.

Ahwell, let’s just throw the baby out with the bath water while we’re at it.
Second rate is silly but his coaching cv isn't quite top tier. His influence on klopp and tuchel seemed a bit overhyped as well, and even if he did influence them sometime ago football changes.

Hopefully he will come good but at the moment the direction of travel isn't convincing and there is not much in his CV to convince he can turn this around in the short term. Conte he is not

Backing a manager who the club don't even want to give the job to? Hahahaha. He's babysitting them until they find someone they want. I'm not backing him one bit. Neither are the players evidently.

I'm pretty sure you had zero backing for last manager too and cried most of his tenure. Could be wrong and just mistaking you for someone else

Not a case of blind backing here, but like a lot of fans I'm sick of the sight of some of these players. At the moment, I'd rather Ralf get full rein to sort the squad and direction out, as he known for setting a structure in place and fixing clubs, and if he not staying on, and he moving to the advisor role instead, then he going too advise on what manager to bring in, that will suit the new direction.

Wee need a new direction. We improved with Ole, and went the money route, but ended up failing this season with same lot of players and now seem to have a team that is barely doing the basics right.

As it stands I'd rather give Ralf the time to get to work.

Wrong actually. I stood by Ole longer than most. My love for him as a player kept me believing

That's not his fault, that's the players'. Pathetic reasoning.

He's got to get a tune out of them. We can't sell the entire squad and even if we wanted to we couldn't due to their wages.

If they don't respect him then it's doomed from the start. I honestly think most of them didn't even know who he was 2 months ago. Never a good sign at an elite club to have a manager this unknown.

Much too early to judge him. You can’t look at a few shit performances and say he is a shit coach. Results over a long period is the only rational indicator.

The players are obviously very low; they went from genuinely optimistic and full of team spirit to hopeless fools without any fight, all in the space of a few months. I mean the wheels really came off at shocking speed. It is a big job just to get their chins off the deck.

I don’t think a major rebuild is required but a few new faces are needed to shake the squad up a bit. And bring some kids through.

The idea that RR is to blame or could be expected to do much better by this point is mad.
Hear hear.

The players aren't behind him because he's not their best mate like Solskjaer was, he's actually there to be a boss, give them orders, and make them work hard. Many of our mentality weak and stupid players can't handle it. They'll throw him under the bus and many of the fans will fall for it again.
You’re spot on.

People always forget that things can get much much worse when they ask for a new manager.

I think the dressing room is a bit depressed about the break up with Ole, and nobody likes the new one. You know the weeks just before a break up and you are so sure what you are doing.. only to find yourself misty eyed starring into nothing in a night club, wishing for a chance just to beg her to comme back. Well.. that was sort of Luke Shaw in that interview.

So.. its probably some sort of blame game going on. Bruno is probably crushed as well.

Anyhow. Its clear as a day that Ragnick is not the one for this club in anyway. He is sort of the perfect rebound in that sense..

He is a second rate coach. Look at his CV.

His resume doesn't say it all. His influence on top managers like Klopp and Tuchel tell a different story. Chelsea wanted him in the same interim position before they landed Tuchel. He's one of the most influencial coaches in modern football when you consider what he's created at the Red bull clubs.

I’d say people are turning on the players a hell of a lot more. A couple of years ago I loved the team we’d become, but now I despise the vast majority of them.

Most of them should be ashamed of themselves.. big clearing out needed of players who don’t want to be here and win things.

I think you are confusing a professor with an CEO.

Yeah. it is like similar to managing a United football team. Not really.

I mean it is totally different and he has yet to show he could do the job at United. He seems to be in awe of the likes of fecking Burnely, Wolves etc in EPL at this moment.

Definitely not turning on Ragnick but we shouldn't be wondering where is all that was promissed back when he came in -what we saw in those infamous 30 minutes against Palace. Where is that gegen-pressing thing they all talked about?

Today we saw the players jogging back exactly how they used to under the previous regime and this is definitely worrying. So if Ragnick should not be called out yet for cutting that crap and not being able to address the most evident of problems at the club, then we are doomed with the laziest and less interested squad in the Premier League. I reckon the latter is the more accurate statement.

We genuinely could not expect to end the season higher than 6th if we continue with this football.

I believe it was to split the cliques up, rather than what caused it.

Strange but ok

He just got here. It doesn't help that the brats in our squad are already bitching about late training sessions and a lack of 'togetherness'. Klopp had to get rid of a lot of misfits at Liverpool before he found success. Ragnick won't get us to challenge in his short time here but I hope he lays some strong foundations for the next permanent manager. He deserves more respect in my opinion. Let the man work

. Let the man work

Well. If you have 6 months to move one pile of dirt from one place to another. You dont choose a strategy that will take two years and new equipment. No need to let the man work. It is better now to find a man who can finish the job in five months with the equipment we have.

Or, we can just give him the two years right away. What we are doing now is not ok and is not geting us what we need from this sesson or the next two years becouse new dirt mover will comme in june and have a whole new strategy.

Sorry but when the manager is subbing off our best attacker (Greenwood) what the hell is the point. Anyone have any idea what he was thinking with that one?

I think Ralf just started to get used to EPL and to understand how competitive the games are here. We should be patient to give him some time to nail it down. But, I hope it won’t take long.

Should have subbed Bruno for Cavani and left Greenwood for a few more mins even if he was tired. Fred should have come on after that.

His subs were strange at times almost as much as LVG's routine subbing FBs with 10 mins to go.

Just made zero sense. Even if Greenwood was tired, he was clearly the best attacker on the pitch and looked like actually doing something. Cavani had a bit of a shocker so should have been the first to go. Looked to me to be a political decision of ditching the youngest player.

No point giving him 6 months to get used to EPL while we completely miss the top 4 in the process. Even if he gets it down in 6 months, he won't probably be a perm manager. It seems a waste of time for everyone to hire him as a manager for 6 months only.

If we wanted his knowledge with 'rebuilding the club', hire him as consultant and keep Carrick for this season as Carrick would not need time to get used to the EPL and he probably would be likely to finish more or less the same position in the table at the end of the season.

We're in a very bad place to be fair. I agree, it's not ok. I still think it's still too early to heavily question Rangknick. Spurs didn't exactly have a new manager 'bounce' under Conte for instance. Not comparing the two managers directly

They say he had 'ball' and was 'brave' or something.

Some people even praised him for going with all attackers in the game against Newcastle saying Ole would never do that.

Well, Ole's team came back from death so many times without needing to have the 'ball'. Not that I think Ole was good enough for us in general and it was getting clear this season. And this guy certainly won't. At least not in 6 months time with same squad.

I am just desperately hoping that we would be in CL next season somehow.

So, your solution is to sack him now and bring back Carrick (assuming we can persuade him back)?
