Turn the Caf Green and Gold

Had a look at the reddit one, hmm I don't know, doesn't feel like United.
Ok I kid, I know the story and purpose... aesthetically changing it temporary to green and gold would be a nice change to look at for a limited period of times, and if it actually bring actual changes to United (who knows right) then it's 2 birds with one stone.
Maybe turn the caf into different variations of red colours eg. lighter red, softer red, darker red, etc. Currently I think it's only one red colour variation and it's not pretty to look at. Hurts the eye and all

Turn the caf green and gold

We did this already years ago and it was cringey as feck.
That word has lost all meaning. It's fecking used for everything.

What's cringey about changing the colours of an internet forum? Do you think someone is going to walk past you while you're on Redcafe and be like; "A green and gold website? Wow, cringe."

Theres a bit of momentum, give it a push and see what happens.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say nothing is going to happen if redcafe makes the forum green and gold.

What's cringey is that first of all it's all for nothing because nobody at United gives a feck about RedCafe or what they want so the gesture is largely pointless to begin with, but on top of that it split the football forum into a ridiculously toxic place with two sides against each other in the biggest circular argument ever. It was tedious, the fanboism on both sides was cringe inducing and so were the personal attacks and arguments happening daily. The Android vs Apple and Ronaldo vs Messi arguments looked like threads of the year in comparison. If the first G&G campaign did nothing, this one will do less than nothing.

Its a small pretty insignificant protest but every little helps. The talk of government intervention is interesting at least. Keeping the idea in the mind of the conservative troll farm cant hurt.

Fair enough that does sound a bit rubbish.

The majority of the forum seem to agree on the Glazers though. I hardly see many here who express his love for them.

It can hurt my eyes, green and gold is a terrible colour scheme for a forum.

I doubt you'll find anyone who says they love them but I also doubt the 'majority of the forum' agrees on it either. Given the forum has over 40,000 members you also don't see many who express hate for them, just a small sub section of less than 1% of the board who frequent the place regularly and are passionate and therefore post often and therefore gives the impression that everyone hates them. I would wager that most are indifferent. When this happened last time, you had sub sections of fans become overnight financial experts bringing out years of filings to show us how on line 89 sub section 5 paragraph 36 there were benefits they had brought us, you had other sections of fans who disregarded all of that and just wanted them out even if as the first group said it would hurt us financially, you had others who didn't care but getting attacked anyway and both sides were scapegoating, cherry picking information, floating misinformation about and the whole fecking thing was pointless anyway because nothing happened. All it did was make this place a toxic place to visit.

As much as I don't like the Glazers, or other billionaires, I don't want the people on this forum who want to repeat their identical one line criticisms of them every day to be encouraged to do so. It's just not interesting discussion.

green and gold is an ugly colour combination. also, what the feck does having redcafe green and gold accomplish besides stroking a few egos here?

Dunno I think it looks really good like.

Can you also alternate green and gold for each letter as well to show them we really mean business this time.

What does wearing a BLM t-shirt achieve?

what does wearing a rainbow t-shirt achieve.

Green and gold are our heritage colours. It’s a reminder of who we are as a club despite what the cnuts that own us think. They may own our assets and our contracts, but they don’t own the feelings of the club. That’s why reminding them of that matters and why this whole fiasco has fallen on its arse. They took a punt on the fans caring more about trophies than who we are as a club and they lost.

Are you conflating and comparing civil rights protests and struggles with football fans wanting a specific colour theme on a forum? My question was specifically about what does making redcafe green and gold achieves, as suggested by the thread title. I do not know if that’s the scope of what’s being proposed, thus my very specific question.

Green and gold means nothing to me besides an ugly colour combination. If you need it as a reminder of who/what United is as a club then so be it, I don’t.

I wish there's a more effective way for people outside the Stadium (or outside England), to show our displeasure about the Glazers. Instead of just put everything in fecking green and gold colors. Others might think I'm a Celtic fan or something.

I can see your point.

Joel will be livid when he logs in

Yeah, it’s not something I take lightly and I appreciate the public will be up in arms but needs must - we should turn the message boards a different colour - could force the Board to actually spend some money
