Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

How is that kind of stuff allowed?

this was the best one

I'm hearing Cohen's statement from yesterday.

He doesn't directly order anything. He speaks in a code.

Ivanka Trump and Donald Jr wanted for interviews by House committee
House oversight committee chairman Elijah Cummings has said he will seek interviews with Donald Trump’s children and some of his closest allies after public testimony by the president’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen. Among those the committee will call in for testimony are Donald Trump Jr and Ivanka Trump, as well as Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg.

“All you have to do is follow the transcript. If there are names that were mentioned or records that were mentioned during the hearing, we want to take a look at all of that,” Cummings told reporters, according to Politico.

Meanwhile, Politico also reports that financial services chairwoman Maxine Waters says Democrats should focus on Trump foundation and potential Trump tax evasion.

Let’s hope they manage this very soon.

Isn't Weisselberg already cooperating with investigations?

He's the guy they really need tbh.

Yup, Ivanka and Junior will be deliberately vague and forgetful but let's see if this 70 year old dude is willing to go to jail for Trump.

I'm just patiently hoping they're building a massive flawless case against Trump that will be brought out soon. The amount of crimes he's been implicated in is staggering but he keeps pottering on.

I’m hoping it will get through the senate because a bunch of republicans will be implicated and impeached before the vote goes ahead.

Trump’s favorite bank is now cooperating with House investigators as Maxine Water digs into his shady finances

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) is leading an investigation into President Donald Trump’s finances as chairwoman of the House Financial Services.

Politico is reporting that Deutsche Bank, which has deep ties to Trump, is now cooperating with Waters’ team.

Trump originally had to shut down his charity because of a conflict of interest and for using the non-profit for his political benefit.

“I think that’s an area that should be looked at because I think the foundation has been used by him to avoid paying taxes,” Waters told Politico.

She then explained that Deutsche Bank originally hesitated to cooperate but changed their minds after Democrats won back the House.

“They’re just now being cooperative; they had not been,” Waters said. “But now that I have the chairmanship and we’re in the majority … yes, they have offered to cooperate and my staff has just started to work with them to get the documents.”

Would be so sweet if so called low IQ Maxine Waters bought him down.

Most interesting part of that article is that Deutche Bank only agreed to work with investigators when the Democrats won the house.

Is that because the Dems were the first to threaten subpoena or because Deutche Bank didn’t trust Devin Nunes and his team?

Interesting indeed

Would've thought that they would feel safe not to bother with Nunes because he'll protect them rather than them not trusting him.

Likely because a Republican controlled house had no interest in digging into Trump's finances because "yay we're in power!".

The House can probably force US regulators to end DB if they want, hence their 'voluntary' cooperation.

But he's got nephews and nieces who are people of colour There is no way he could call for an African American to be shipped home to Kenya.

I think that it's wrong that she was all but forced to say that she didn't mean that she thought he was racist.

So is Hannity offering to testify and claim that Cohen told him about the hush money and that he had also explicitly informed Hannity about not having informed Trump?

He was running his mouth about things he and Cohen talked about, which was noticed by the Dems who run the committees. Looks like they may call him in to testify now.

Yes, so if he comes in and lies blatantly to claim that Cohen confided in him about the hush money, then it's his word against Cohen. That doesn't make an airtight case against Trump and his cronies. So then what's the benefit of bringing him in to testify?

Perjury trap. Oldest trick in the book. No collusion!

Because the idiot in chief is so dumb he would probably go on Hannity's show the night before and coach him how to lie to Congress. He admitted already on TV that he fired Comey over Russia and most likely got rid of Sessions because he recused himself from the investigation.
Republicans really are low IQ individuals and they only care about the rule of law when it comes to Democrats. Hell, these fecking cnuts tried to pass a law in one of the Dakotas to make it legal to run protesters down in their vehicles. Think about that, they want to legalize murder if they don't agree with you. Absolute cnuts.

Cummings worked with Mueller before Cohen’s testimony. I’m sure Mueller can supply the house with the questions they know the answers to.

It would be more about embarrassing Hannity than going after Trump - exposing him as a fraud who is entangled in Trump's patronage network.

Imagine Obama played 1on1 every Thursday night with Rachel Maddow and blatantly based his policy on her daily opinion. Fox news and the conservative cancer in this country would spontaneously combust with rage. Tiki torch industry would be booming though.

Let's face it there are many Democrats that don't find Maddow palatable.

They nailed Obama for that tan suit though. Caught him red handed.

How can you decline to work with investigators? Don't they have the same options as the police?

They’re a foreign company who trade in the US. They can refuse without the same legal implications an American company or person would face as long as the crimes in question didn’t happen on US soil or using the US Dollar.

What they could face is sanctions, something they would obviously rather avoid and something far likelier to come from a Democrat house.

Surely they could just ask german police to deliver (if the crime in question is illegal im GER too)? Lots of crimes happening cross border, police couldnt work otherwise.
