Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

If the Dems win both houses , then he is out cold.
I think two-thirds of the Senate are required to vote in favour of the impeachment, so Dems just winning the chamber (already unlikely) wouldn't make it a given by any means. It'll be driven by the public as to whether he gets impeached or not, enough Repubs would have to be scared enough over their own prospects/grow a conscience at any evidence of illegality presented.

I would definitely do that.

There's no chance that he gets removed from office or even impeached
Two congressional investigations and a special counsel would at least introduce a possibility for impeachment, but hey, you are the psychic, I guess.

When he is impeached in the house , he has to defend himself in the senate , where I think he will simply self destruct.

I reckon the humiliation of being impeached would make Trump seriously consider resigning before a impeachment vote took place.

I'm not psychic and there are actually four congressional committees investigations. One has "completed " . The rest are basically stone walling. And in any case they matter not. Trump needs two thirds of Congress to vote on impeachment. There isn't a snowballs chance in hell that happens even if dems win the majority

Two thirds of Senate , not Congress. The house vote is a simple majority.

Mindblowing. It suggests someone on the inside has been deleting evidence on Cohen's behalf.
It's almost unbelievable . Can't imagine who would put themselves in such a risk, this carries a significant sentence for sure.

Bannon tried to suppress the black vote...
"Mr. Bannon sees cultural warfare as the means to create enduring change in American politics. It was for this reason Mr. Bannon engaged SCL (Cambridge Analytica's parent company), a foreign military contractor, to build an arsenal of informational weapons he could deploy on the American population," Wylie claimed, referring to Trump's former top political adviser Steve Bannon.

That's definitely a possibility though the article muses over alternative explanations. The FINCEN website apparently notes that "false documents or those 'deemed highly sensitive' and 'requiring strict limitations on access' may be transferred out of its master file." One interviewed expert then speculates FINCEN might have taken such action in response to a Mueller or SDNY request - though she remained unaware of the mechanism by which this might have taken place.

Yeah that's a possibility but I'm somehow suspicious that the person who leaked this to Farrow and others wouldn't know about that since there would be something in the system/database that would've flagged the removal of information due to a sensitive matter/special case or something in that vein.

It definitely smells funny. Hopefully Cohen's bank can be subpoena'd for the missing reports they filed (I presume they must have copies).

It all comes down to public opinion. Contrary to public belief, the GOP house doesn’t give a rats ass about Trump, they care about re-election. If Mueller brings back a cast iron case, and the public swing hard against him, the votes will be there, although they’ll force him to resign instead. The Dems won’t want to impeach (they never do) but again if public opinion forces their hand then they’ll do it.

I think the only way he’s going anywhere is if they get enough to send his kids down for a long stretch. Then he might step down if his family is given immunity. Him and the kids.

I am sure the inmates won't be happy when someone is constantly yelling 'witch hunt' in the cell block in a couple of years.

I like him even less now I know he's one of those twats that still has the 'sent from my _____ ' signature on every message.
I'm sad to report to you that most people in my/mooch's industry (finance) still have it... I don't think they know how to remove it.

Sadly you're correct, my dad still has it and so do his workmates and it's pointless me explaining to him/them how to do it because it's only annoying to people like me

Coincidence? ;)

More nefariously - was Trump's initial hostility towards the Qataris during the first months of his Presidency a result of them declining to "pay" Michael Cohen millions in exchange for his "consulting services" with Trump on behalf of the Qataris. I'm sure Mueller is on this (and has been for months).

I hope we find out.

I do think that the Qataris refusal to bail out Kushner's White Elephant might have had something to do with those hostilities as well though.

Trump’s crusade against Qatar isn’t about terrorism – it’s revenge for a failed business deal
Was Qatar singled out for punishment because it cosies up to Iran and is the world’s biggest supporter of terrorism? Or was it because it failed to back The Family?

Has anyone else checked out Michael Cohen's "law school"? Its considered the worst in America
Its basically the Trump U of law schools

The school, Michigan’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School, is currently accused by the American Bar Association of exploiting its underqualified students, and Cooley’s founder has laid out extremely disturbing views on race and religion.

Though there is no single official metric that defines America’s “worst law school,” Politico decided that the honor could be reasonably handed to Cooley Law, where Cohen graduated in 1991. The school accepts 85% of its applicants, compared to rates below 50% even for most mid-tier public law schools, recently leading the American Bar Association to threaten the school’s accreditation. Fewer than half of Cooley graduates pass the bar exam on their first try, according to the school’s own reported numbers, compared to around 75% for all U.S. law school graduates.

Both the ABA and a law school watchdog speaking to Politico allege Cooley engages in predatory admissions, or intentionally admitting unqualified students simply to collect tuition payments. At its height, Cooley had the largest student body of any law school in America, and annual revenue of $123 million. Though the school is nonprofit, its leaders collect large salaries. That includes Thomas Brennan, the school’s 88-year-old founder, who stepped down as the school’s president in 2002 but continued to receive $329,000 a year as a part-time emeritus professor.

My Trump supporting colleagues seem to believe that yesterday's developments around Mueller mean Trump has been exonerated and will not definitely not be charged.

They think Mueller saying that they'll follow the DOJ's advice to not indict a sitting president means he's been exonerated.
The focus from Trump, Giuliani, etc has moved very much from saying "he's innocent, nobody did anything" to "they can't indict a sitting president" argument. So while they're doing all this 1 year anniversary of the greatest WITCH HUNT attacking, they're also giving away that they know it's only becoming more problematic for Trump.
