Trump/Russia/SDNY investigation

Dec. 12 was an eventful day at Trump Tower during the hectic transition.

According to information that Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner provided to Congress after failing to initially disclose his Russia contacts, Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak met with Kushner's assistant on that date.

The following day, Dec. 13, Kushner met with Russian banker Sergei Gorkov, who told Kushner he was close to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Interesting.

Interesting analysis just now that Mueller is likely to make some moves soon and then put his investigation on ice for the next few months in order to avoid any perception he is attempting to influence the mid terms. So this may drag on for some time.

I’d imagine it’s more tactical than him having any actual worry of his investigation having an impact politically.

If he puts it on ice he will have little reason for push back from nervous GOP leaders who are likely to want to reign him in if they fear damaging news dropping.

If the Democrats take back the house, he knows he will be able to continue with full protection, if they don’t he will start up again and continue as he was.

I wonder what Avenatti's end game is in this. Public office? Major networks? Not sure this helps his legal career that much. Great TV skills will make him rich(er?) in the US regardless.

Public office imo. If Eric Garcetti runs for President then Avenatti may have his eye on that job.

Investigators. If that was on C-Span then it was public domain. All you need is to put enough man hours into digging through this stuff to find the reliant information.

It also requires a healthy dose of leaks from disperate sources. Such as the Cohen email that Avenatti got his hands on last week, or the information about Cohen shaking down companies for access to Trump.

Is that T.S Ellis that has ruled that?

Manafort's the Mystery Prat: he's called the Hidden flaw—
A simple dumbfeck criminal who can't defy the Law.
He's the merriment of Washington, the orange loon's despair:
For when they try to hide the crime—Mueller's already there!

- TS Ellis

Edit: it's actually District Judge Amy Berman Jackson. Pity.

Well, I think you agreed with myself some time back that this would take longer than most expected or hoped.

It was always likely to extend well into 2019.

Yeah true. Part of the delay is Trump's tap dancing on whether or not he wants to voluntarily be interviewed under oath, which if he doesn't, will result in a subpoena and all of the legal wrangling that comes with that. With this and the elections on deck, its likely the entire thing won't finish up until at least mid 2019 imo.

common sense prevails. Though after actaully reading the oral arguments of the Judge from Virginia i realised his comments off the cuff were vastly miss reprsented in the press. They seemed more like he was making slight jokes and shut down Manaforts lawyers many times

If you look at what happened in the Senate yesterday with the Trump meeting you will see that nothing will be done until the GOP no longer hold the majority.

Many Senators said they were going to take him to task over the McCain incident and the ZTE tweet but when it came down to it no one was brave enough to broach the subjects.

That's because he still controls the Republican base through his tweets and his propaganda channel (Fox). They are therefore going to have to go down with him. I think the Dems will probably take the house and the GOP will probably, barely hold on to the Senate which guarantees nothing will get done until after the next election in 2020.

Agreed.

Is this how the American judicial system now works?

Is it true you were doing 55 in a 25mph school zone? I don't remember your honor.

Is it true you were at your place of abode last week Saturday? I don't remember.

Its infuriating that the spineless gop pieces of sh't accept this. Treasonous the lot of them, re-election over country v

Someone on TV just said there's a massive difference between asking a boxer with 20 years experience if he's ever punched someone in the face and asking a non boxer with no experience if he's ever done the same. The boxer isn't likely to remember each instance whereas the non-boxer would likely be lying if he claims he didn't remember the one time he did.

In Don Jr's case, he's not exactly had endless experience meeting with Russians to dig up dirt on Hillary so he should remember nearly everything about the meeting, including whether he called his Dad to provide an update or seek further instructions.

I fear the day Trump will actually fall from office in disgrace. You can say a lot about him, but he does seem to have a lot of rabid fans. From the looks of Twitter, there will be war in the streets. Or are they really just very loud bots?

I live in the heart of Trumpland and I'm not concerned, if that tells you anything.

Most of those are fake. I've looked at a lot of the profiles before. You got shit like old grandmothers of five with thousands of tweets and thousands of followers with profile pictures that look like they were stolen from some random Facebook account. And the ones that are real are mainly internet warriors, equivalent to shit-talking 14 year olds in middle-aged bodies.
