You getting that stuff off /tv/? There's some real interesting pics floating about tying together certain theories about Marty's eldest daughter on there.

Aye. I noticed it myself again rewatching the first 4 episodes. Have you seen the yellow king imagery when Rust is driving to LeDoux's place?

I think the most disturbing part about this episode was the idea that time is circular and that we're condemned to live out the same life over and over again.

I might take the day off work tomorrow. Do something fun. Weather permitting.

Eh? They are from episodes 2 and 5 which have aired. No one else has been using the spoiler tag.
Anything relating to future theories etc is supposed to be spoilered, some people might not want to know that. They have been pretty heavy against it in the past but no mods seem to watch this so meh.

I don't see why anyone who hasn't watched the five episodes would go past page one of this thread, or even enter it. It's not like BrBa where it's finished its run and people could be picking it up afterwards even years after it started running, this is a new show that only started airing a month ago.

It's not a future theory. Those panels came from aired episodes. Similarly the kids in the woods was mentioned by Cohle and Rust in the very first episode.

Awesome episode. feck me I love this show. I want to be cryogenically frozen so I can wake up in 5 years and watch 5 seasons of this shit.

It just continues to amaze.

Thats 5 episodes, an hour a pop and it hasn't dipped in quality for even 5 minutes yet. It's enthralling from opening to end credits.

I liked Marty's little line that Rust was actually the one figuring the detectives out, not the other way around. Seems to me that he's trying to see if they're actually any good and if he can trust them, like by putting those 5 little beer can men around in the circle in a cult-like fashion to see if they react to it. Maybe if they passed his 'test' he was going to show them what he figured out but instead they tried to incriminate him (something he probably knew they'd do) so he left.

Do you think that Rust deliberately put himself to the cameras at the Lake crime scene so that the detectives in charge of the investigation would spot him and interview him ?

Dunno, possibly, possibly not, he more so strikes me as not really caring about being noticed more than actively trying to be found by them.

When Ledoux was cuffed and kneeling on the ground, I can't have been the only person to think that the tattoo on his chest looked a LOT like Cohle/McConaughey?

Obviously it's probably an angel/devil/some saint/bible reference maybe but it does look eerily like him right?

WTF?

I was thinking it might well have been deliberate. To expose the truth he would probably want some more police he trusts on board. Or even if it wasn't deliberate, he was contemplating whether or not he can trust them with what he knows. When they reveal they suspected him, rather than revealing they suspected he knew more than he was letting on, he decided it wasn't worth it. Which implies that the information he has he values higher than clearing his own name at this point. Then of course, he might just be guilty himself, but I don't think that is the case.

I don't think that he is either, it would take a special type of nutcase to go through all that shit at the projects (end of episode 4).

I wouldn't pay much attention to imdb's TV ratings, they're a load of crap.

Agree. A few years ago they seemed fairly accurate, but I think it's pretty clear that a lot of bogus reviews are uploaded these days, especially for anything new.

I’ve enjoyed reading people theorize about what’s going to happen because it’s a sign that you’re connecting. But I’m also sort of surprised by how far afield they’re getting. Like, why do you think we’re tricking you? It’s because you’ve been abused as an audience for more than 20 years. The show’s not trying to outsmart you.
I like that quote.

This starts over here on Sky soon doesn't it? Really looking forward to making my friends watch the first episode to inevitably see them become as addicted as I am.

Just watched episode 5. Cohle is definitely one of the best TV characters I've seen. The show is so tense all the way through. You're constantly on the edge of your seat. I know that's cliché but it's true. 5 incredible episodes so far. How many altogether? 8? Cannot wait for next week.

I don't think you can compare two shows and say one is better than another purely because of their imdb ratings. But generally, those at the top are considered to be the best shows on television by both critics and users. Wire, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones, Sherlock are right at the top with other critically acclaimed shows falling just short (Deadwood, Six Feet Under, Rome etc.)

Anyway yeah, this is brilliant. Anybody who isn't watching it, needs to watch it. How many episodes left this season now, 3?

All I'm going to say is I'm 2 eps in and this series is so good... now I'm off as I don't wanna see any fcuking spoilers.

Finally starts on Sky Atlantic this weekend. Can't wait to watch it.

If you have Sky+ or Anytime it's available for download. I showed it to the parents last night, after about a month of me hyping it.
