True Blood - Season 3 (T.V. show only)

They were also warewolves and not Humans. Who's to know how much blood is needed for a supernatural?

Fair point, last night's episode was absolutely great, the final two seasons is going to be awesome

Is it me or does it seem as though Eric is doomed, he seem to kinda give me that vibe last night, but I could see it going either way between Russell and him even though Russell is the more powerful, Nan Flanagan seemed to have some faith in Eric so who knows. I liked the stuff about Sam's previous life, it was really insightful.

Well, I think Russell will obviously die somehow and wether Eric dies or not remains to be seen. I think he'll either die with Russell, as in he'll kill Russell but just before he does Russell will get a fatal blow in, or he'll sacrifice himself somehow to save Sookie which will in turn lead to Russell's demise.

However it seems Russell has properly flipped as he had that mexican gigalo and acted though it was Talbort so maybe without a sane mind perhaps he is weakened as he won't be so aware or something?

There is so many possibilities, I wouldn't even be surprised if it's Sookie that gets the better of Russell or if more of her kind turn up and use the "light" against him. Maybe "the authority" will send in reinforcements to finish Russell off as he's obviously a hazard to their agenda.

Two episodes to go anyway! Best show on TV right now hands down.

Good? Bad? I'm just about to watch the new ep.

Deliciously good.

Can't believe we are just one ep from the end of the season :(

Another 6 months wait for Season 4...

There are a lot of shows I watch during the course of a week, but none I look forward to more then True Blood. With vampire flicks / shows saturating the market TB is the only show that really captures the mystique and complexity of the genre well. Helps that they have such an excellent cast of actors to play the roles as well.

"Sookie...is MINE!"

Ah dude I hate the breaks between seasons... but luckily there are others to plug the gap!

Liked this ep a lot, the ending was brilliant stuff.
Eric's 'don't let them see me' was almost like a prayer, shows another side to the character. Well this whole season has really with his affection for his family and his 'protege'. I can't see Eric dying anytime soon, my bet is Russell goes up in flames first but not sure who will be coming to Erics rescue.

I think Sookie will save Eric, provided Bill saves Sookie, which of course will happen. It kind of goes with what they are saying, "The blood is running out" I wonder what is going to go on with Lafayette and the other homo. They usually introduce something new towards the end of the seasone, Mary Anne Season 1, Werewolves season 2(I believe they were just mentioned, and well kidnapped Bill off camera, hopefully it is something more interesting than a werepanther or whatever that girl is. Hopefully they will delve more into fairy mythology and vampire hierarchy throughout the finale.

I think Russell will die quicker and more explosively like Godric did, because Russell is far far older than Eric, this will give Eric enough time to get back inside or as said above, fo Bill to save Sookie and Sookie to save Eric.

He bound them together with the cuffs which seemed like they were both stuck to die together and I think thats what they want us to think but if Russell dies first.... Eric will be free to run back inside with just a handcuff on his arm.

Eric won't die. He can't really die or else the show would be terrible. Russell can because he's just a secondary character.

Besides, he and Sookie will hook up next season.

Yeah, I just think Eric is too important and just such a gravitational force in the show, that if he were to die it would hurt the show dramatically. I do remember Bill saying something about Eric being gone in the preview, but I cant recall if Bill said "he's gone" (probably referring to Russell) or he said Eric is gone, which might mean he is dead might mean he has gone somewhere and is still alive. I do have to say he is my favorite character so from that perspective I hope he stays alive, although I have this pessemistic feeling that he is going to die in the finale for some reason

I think the story about Arlene might point towards what the next supernatural thing might be, she looked like she was doing some kind of witchcraft the way she took blood and gave her that drink. The way she had that weird dream with blood all over her and then the baby was still alive was weird as well

Will be interesting to see how the next episode will pan out

Maybe thats the enemy for the next year, wizards and witches, Arlene and Lafayettes and his lovers dream walk while on the V

Well that was not an expected finish. Whilst I've got my idea's for season 4 already, they really went off books with that, which was good. I didn't expect any of the ways they closed some of the stories and left others open.

This was a way better season than season 2, and the last few episodes possibly make it the best of the 3 so far.

Just finished watching and although i was expecting a bit better finish to the series it certainly leaves it open for series 4. Any idea when this will start filming?

Not sure about the filming, but Season 4 will start Summer 2011 (my guess June or July).

As far as open ended finishes that's common for True Blood even as far as episode to episode. There is always something of a cliffhanger (if you want to call it that) which gets resolved in the next episode.

Anybody know whrn this will be aired on FX? I am getting impatient enough to consider watching it online.

Yeah there was no real action, it just was a run of the mill episode, and for a show like True Blood you expect them to pull out the stops on the finale. Meh still excited for Season 4

My feeling on the season and the finale
I think the problem with this season was that it peaked a little early and there were a few story arcs that just felt rushed. Jason development in particular wasn't as good as it has been in the previous seasons. I realize he's trying to find himself and there was some redemption for him but the love story with him and the the meth girl just felt very labored and lacked the spark he had with the v-girl in season 1, or the preachers wife in season 2. I just found it hard to believe why he even found panther girl that attractive. She did absolutely nothing to suggest she could hold his interest. It was out of character for Jason (as I understand him) and I felt that hurt the season just a little bit.

Some of the characters had some radical changes in attitude as well. Sam and Sookie in particular. I can sort of understand where Sookies comes from, but for Sam to just off like that after this long (he killed his ex-gf and her crook bf a long long time ago) felt forced.

On the plus side though, loved the Werewolf mythology and Russel Edginton connection with Eric. Russel made the season for me. He was deliciously conceived and the actor really made the part. I was glad he wasn't killed off. I'd like to think he will return at some point and while we don't get the payoff of a gory death I think the writers realize he's far too interesting a character to just do away with so soon.

On the whole, I think it's been a good season. I like that Bill and Sookie won't start off in love. It'll make for an interesting dynamic next season especially now that Eric has tasted her, and also the hot vibes between her and Werewolf (Alcide). The bill-sookie relationship was getting a bit tiresome so an injection of some rivals might spice things up nicely.

I agree with a lot of that.

Yeah, wasn't a patch on Season 2 and not really as good as Season 1 either.

To be honest it was just a bit all over the place at times and didn't seem to know where it was going, it didn't seem to have the same fluidity of the first 2 seasons, and continuous plotlines. Random things just seemed to happen out of nowhere really.

The king saved it though, he really was a fantastic character, but the stuff with Jason, layfette/Jesus, Arlene and Sam was all a bit meh.

Good ending to the show with Sookie, don't really give 2 shits about Bill, no real ending with Eric, and meh, don't care less if Sam does or doesn't shoot his brother.

Oh, and the werewolves were rubbish.

Overall a tad disappointing, I expected big things.
