Looks fairly epic, but I have lingering thoughts that this is going to be a "special effects and action are more important than cohesive storyline" movie.

I have a shocking memory, but I vaguely remember him now. And I did use to avidly watch Transformers and even the Dinosaur ones.
Seems to me he's a sort of Anti-Hero, and you've just got to love the Anti-Heroes.

I agree didn't really enjoy it that much,prefer the cartoon film and that's saying something.

The first one was a bit shit. I bought the DVD and found myself skipping everything until Megatron was released, which happens with about 20 minutes to go.

i can handle a large amount of special effects but when theres so many blatant ads for Ebay it get a tad annoying

I used to have this exact toy. Don't know what I've done with all my transformers, though the Megatron toy was sh*t.
I thought it was good - as long as you don't expect it to be some kind of sequal to the animated series. I didn't like it as much as I did the original, but as a stand alone, I enjoyed it.

This is a movie about giant robots smashing each other up which was based from a 30 minutes toy advertisement cartoon series.
What cohesive story line do you want?
Its devastator i think? The guy who all the constructicons transform into, cant remember if Devastator is his name

Yeah, it raped my childhood. I loved the Transformers, had all the toys (and some Asian knockoffs, and MASK toys that I pretended were Transformers). It really pissed me off that they made all of the robots look different and Megatron was a plane. Couldn't even enjoy Megan Fox.
For the next movie, I'd rather see Megan Fox in an orgy with the robots for 90 minutes, with some of the robots being lesbians.
There are rumours that this supposed "Fallen" is Galvatron seeing that Michael Bay keeps insisting that Megatron won't be back. Setting up for the appearance of Unicron I reckon. There were earlier rumours that James Earl Jones may voice Unicron, the closest thing to Orson Welles, voice wise I reckon.
The big rolling one is meant to be ONE of the Constructicons, seven of which will combine to form Devastator. The Fallen was a separate character in other transformers literature and comics, but in fairness Megatron is pretty much a nailed on return (pictures of new toys based on his new tank mode and concept art for it have surfaced).
Yeah, i forgot about the Constructicons. Then we might definitely see the Dinobots then. Wouldn't be right without a Devastator vs. Dinobots battle. Soundwave is nailed then I guess considering we saw Ravage in the trailer.
So that huge thing is just ONE of seven, which together form something even larger?
