Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Would be delighted if they all went nuts and paid that... If the money wasn't going to Liverpool.

200 million euros for Philippe Coutinho.

Such a dumb move from us
Not if he plays the majority of games.

Lets face it he wasn't going to displace Pogba, Matic, Hererra, Fellaini or Mata was he?

He needs game time to develop and last season he gained a lot of experience playing in La Liga every week.

You guys realize this is Barcelona defending their transfer window to their fans. They were unreasonable. Not our fault.

He wasn't going to play for much of the early season anyway. We also have an option to recall him in January, which is when the games start piling up. I can't see any negatives for either side here.

Why are people acting like Pereira is some sort of super talent and sad to see him loaned out/sold.

God only knows mate.

He's a good young prospect, but he isn't good enough to be benching Pogba, Matic, Herrera or even Fellaini.

This loan move will either make or break his United career.

Were the terms of the loan confirmed?

Keita in for Can and Lemar in for Coutinho next season leaves them in essentially the same position. No point of saying they strengthened if they can't keep their best players.

Isn't Keita supposed to be a better player than Can?

Yes, but just one class mid does not a midfield make. We saw how our midfield even with Pogba is fairly ordinary until we signed Matic.

Their midfielders bar Keita are not good enough if Can leaves, so it is not strengthening by much.

Would be a blow. Can has been getting better and better.

Why do Barcelona feel the need to disclose this to the media? I know Liverpool is our main rival but feck Barcelona, they deserve everything that is happening to them. They have been the bully for too many years.

They've had a tendency to do similar in the past. I remember one summer they announced their transfer budget!

Can signs a new contract: He's average
Can to leave for free: They can't keep their best players

Excellent logic. Can is above average and suits Liverpool's style but losing him isn't the end of the world, if they can get a decent holding midfielder to play alongside keita and wijnaldum/new signing (lemar?)

If coutinho wasn't kicking up a fuss, Can starts on the bench

Never said Can was average myself. I have actually been able to watch him a few times and he is pretty impressive. I am glad he's leaving for Juve.

I don't know why all the digs at Liverpool for wanting 200 million for Courtinho. Liverpool didn't want to sell & did the same as Barcelona with Neymar, in that if they wanted him they would have to pay this amount. Seems sensible to me. It doesn't mean he is worth that amount, but that is what they need to pay to get him. Good for them.

Normally Id agree with you but Coutinho is worth about a quarter of that and somebody has to speak out about the mad prices
