Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

We should make a late bid for Willian
We should. José knows him well and is his sort of player, probably the only one who kept playing for him after the sizzling physio debacle. If we are to make a last minute transfer it would be someone who would hit the ground running knowing what the manager expects of him.

Serie A title and deep stages (semi's) of the CL again I think this season, Bonucci will be a loss but I think Juve are capable of replacing him between Howedes and more minutes for Rugani, and with Costa and Bernardeschi you have the sort of danger from wide-forwards/inverted wingers that I don't think I've seen you have a while which gives you more options.

Cheers! There are about 10 teams below Madrid that can confidently aim at QFs in the CL so who knows, much will be decided by form and episodes. That said, Howedes is an interesting replacement for Bonucci and Douglas Costa might replicate Alves' contribution in terms of quality upfront.

Delighted that Pereira is staying. Should get some game time in the domestic cups and maybe even in the Champions League if we qualify with a couple of games to spare.

Re Willian - Can't see Chelsea selling anyone else to us this Summer after being given pelters for letting us have Matic.

All these deals have been done a week or a month ago, right? It seems so stupid to leave everything to the last minute and can only be a markting move by the EPL.

Yeah, Alexis Sánchez would definitely agree to stay in London, look miserable for the cameras, get trounced by Liverpool, and miss Chile's training camp to do a last minute medical... all as a marketing ploy for the EPL. Makes sense.

Since we are not signing anyone, I guess the best case scenario for us right now is that Liverpool, City and Chelsea sign no more good players (>25 M). If that happens, it would still end up being a decent window.

Chelsea and Arsenal are having an awful time. Chelsea did make a few signings earlier in their window but their squad is so thin, which is ironic considering the number of players they have out on loan.

I've never known Chelsea to miss out on so many targets in one window.
