Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

That is ridiculous.

Even the Dutch sides are getting into the madness.
Why shouldn't they? Sanchez is regarded very highly, I'm afraid he'll become a beast at Spurs.

We paid £30m+ for Lindelöf who apparently is the worst defender this club has ever seen.

The highest transfer the Eredivisie has seen was £30m for Memphis Depay. Even with the crazy transfers this summer, Ajax are pushing £16m higher for a CB. Seems a little too ambitious. In fact, a defender isn't even in the all time top 10 highest transfer outgoings for the Eredivisie.

Doesn't really matter, records are there to be broken and times are changing especially this summer. They know Spurs have the money as they have got £70m this summer from player sales so they may as well rinse them, and they also know Spurs are desperate to sign players in the next 2 weeks. It's simple business.

I wasn't impressed with Sanchez in the Europa League Final at all. His distribution and composure on the ball is Championship standard. Loved how Mourinho identified that aspect of his game and we continually allowed him attempt take the ball out of defence, only to force a turnover in midfield when he panicked with the ball. It genuinely looked desperate on his behalf.

In saying that, he has a turn of pace and is strong. I wouldn't have him as a £40m+ player, though. No way.

Spurs got 45-50 million from Walker. Who else they sold ?

Lowballin again from Levy... This must be their business model that they keep going on n on n on on n on about. No signings and dont pay the going rate. They should really buy some kids and hope one or two of them turn out to be special.

Its not like every club in the world does this.

Quietly monitor Bale situation, and then smash Perez with a Christmas bid.
Quietly monitor several superstars and then sign nobody because January before World Cup.

Dont think there will be much to this story, barring perhaps Griezmann, top quality isnt going to move in January and I really think that if Griezmann was going to move in January then he would just move now.

Sounds like Perisic was an alternative to Griezmann that didn't work out. Going back for Grirzmann maybe? Waiting till a certain player is available?

Or just another nonsense story from ESPN and their imaginary sources.

Sounds like we don't have money.

Honestly, why do we need to buy?

If Martial starts banging them in from wide left and Rashford does too, why do we need to buy?

People talking about a left back. Blind was awful pre-season but actually decent on Sunday. If Shaw comes back and finds form. Why buy?

Our problem last season was missing easy chances. We seem to have gone some way to remedying that. So why just spend more cash? Why not give our squad the chance to prove itself?

Apparently the 'sources' for that ESPN story was just a mini update from Luckhurst saying that he doesnt reckon Perisic will be joining this window.

United badly lack a world class left-footed winger. Or ANY left-footed winger for that matter. The attack is lop-sided, and the people who 'fill-in' there like Mkhi and Mata always drift inside or out of the game altogether.

Battering an average (at best) West Ham side at home is one thing, but the Super Cup showed that United are short at least a couple of the highest quality players to compete at the top table.

"Depor will ask for Diego Costa loan until January". It's not going to happen since they can't afford the wages but it's nice to dream.
They'll want Vietto's transfer too

I don't think you can expect us to be automatically competing against the likes of Real yet. I think that will take another season, but we're more than capable of turning those home draws into wins - which would significantly improve our standing from last year.

Also - seeing as your a Swansea fan, you bid for Seri earlier in the window, right? (albeit quite a low ball bid). You think you'll go back for him with the Sigurdsson money burning a hole now?

Nobody can compete with Real Madrid right now. Barcelona got slapped 3-1 despite having a man advantage. That doesn't mean we can't win the title.

We do not badly lack a left footed winger. We created more chances than 17 other Premier League teams last season. We just missed a lot.

Our attack is a bit lop sided. However, that is not unusual for Mourinho teams. He always has one inverted winger and at Inter he had two. You'll recall his Inter team won the treble.

I have faith in the squad we have. Its plenty good enough to compete for the league.
