There must be add-ons involved in that deal. Chelsea obviously don't want to reveal those addons in order to show everyone how much better their deal was compared to ours. Will be interesting to see how much Madrid journalists claim he's going for.

There are, Matt Law said, but the initial is only 58m pounds.

That's what we were offering to Madrid to get Morata nearly.

He's a bit of a short arse to be a Jose CDM. As I said elsewhere maybe Jose has to reassess what we need or we might just get nothing and his record in his 2nd year goes for a burton.

Honestly that record isn't going to be maintained whether we get a CM and winger or not IMO, but I am certain the CM we get, if we get one, will be a big guy, even if he's very talented like Weigl, it'll still be a tall player.

Not sure how you figure that. We have added another centre half and replaced Rooney with Lukaku. Zlatan is also returning.
is that confirmed now? I've missed the announcement.

Modric is built like a tank isn't it.

Modric was playing for his team in La Liga and alongside one of the best 3 holding midfielders in Europe, different to the PL and this team that doesn't even have a holding midfielder bar our 36 year old squad player.

Was it really the same figure they wanted from us? Did they drag it on as long? This one was wrapped up in no time and looks to be about the same as what we offered (perhaps a bit less).

It would've been wrapped up quickly had we offered what they were asking for.

Jose himself confirmed that we didn't come to an agreement on their valuation for the player.

That doesn't make Modric a large man.

Perez could have panicked.

Proves what a mob Madrid are.

That's what I believe. I actually don't think he acted like this just for DDG situation, as he's a businessman after all. He wanted to earn from Morata more than he deserved and end up fecking the deal, so he accepted the nearest reasonable price ASAP.

Just a small reminder here that...
a) Verratti is a playmaker, not an enforcer CM.
b) Mourinho signed Sneijder for Inter Milan and then Modric for Real Madrid to be his play-makers. None of them was Muhammad Ali.

So there's hope? Move Herrera back and sign this lad. Anything if it keeps Fellaini out and Pereira to get games as a backup.

We don't even really know what United's final offer was to Madrid.

If Madrid sold him for a lower offer than United's then it's their financial loss. Why even care about their reasons for selling cheaper.

Because he was playing in Spain, largeness was not one of Mourinho's requirements, his PL teams have always been beast based, and yes I know Fabregas was in his last Chelsea side.

Then what's your point if you knew Fabregas was in his title winning side?

Herrera is also 6 feet which is just an average height for footballer.

The whole de gea revenge situation is cooked up, he made a bad business deal trying to act too smart and denied the dream move for the player because all he don't give a feck about players happiness.

I hope we and city match 130 m euros for mbappe so it sets the base price for him

I mean, we're paying a bunch of people to put a ball (just one at a time, can't be more than that) inside the gap between 4 sticks (has to be four). That itself is weird if you think about it that way.

Am I missing something regarding the number of sticks?

That's my view of the situation nearly, too.

It's not bad going to the reigning PL champions and living a lovely Cobham though is it. I am sure he wife will be happy shopping in London and going out to the theatre and the best restaurants.

Zlatan hasn't been confirmed and even if he is he won't be back until December.

Rojo and Young out for months and Shaw out for unknown.

We are miles behind our rivals, most of which are seriously strengthening.

Well if that's what he's looking for but then Milan is even better.

In the end his first choice was to play for mourinho.

Verratti is 5'5 and the CM's we are linked with have all been 6'2 or taller, the CM we bought last summer is also 6'3 and Jose loves our tree CM as well, soi my point was I don't see him suddenly wanting a little fella like Verratti, he likes size.

We were 25 unbeaten in the league, and we will strengthen defense and mid even More, goal scoring was our problem last season and we will fix it with better balance this season.

We ain't no miles behind. Absolutely not. We are the only club who beat champions Chelsea comfortably last seaaon. It's all about getting dynamics right.
