If we only loaned zaha or had a buyback clause we would have a cover just in case. Again Woodward did a bad deal selling him because lvg said so. Lvg made many outgoing bad decisions at the club.
He was also the manager. What was Woodward supposed to say? 'Nah Louie, I believe we'll just keep him here, thanks'.

That would have gone down well. The mistake (if you consider it a mistake) lies solely with LvG.

Zaha? Are you serious! Enough of having average players and overrating them. We are already carrying jones, young, lingard, fellaini and smalling to name some.

No you add buy back or first option cause or loan him on 2 year deal

Sir alex bought him, surely would have seen something in him, besides he did score 7 goals and 9 assists in epl, only 3 less than perisic. As a wide player he could have been used

Or you follow the manager's advice and sell him outright. Which he did. He's there to support the manager and his decisions. The manager obviously didn't rate him and I believe Zaha wanted to leave.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Besides, can you imagine the reaction if the club announced that we are re-signing Zaha?

Out of interest, what would happen if Perisic had just flat out refused to get on the plane? I know it would be unprofessional, but what could Inter do?

And then dont buy another winger and unbalance the squad with lack of wide options for balance.? And see theclub being unbalanced into the season and see the club being held to ransom. A wrong manager or a different philosophical manager can give a opinion which turns out to be wrong. We no longer have got SAF at the club. Our transfer policy works best with managerial stability with a manager who deserves to stay. If there is little stability decesions can go wrong.

I'm not sure how this relates to saying Woodward made a mistake with the sale of Zaha. The manager is the one with the expertise, all Woodward can do is support his decisions and take his advice. If LvG thought Zaha might be a future option then we would have included some kind of clause in the deal. Evidently, he didn't.

Again, though, we're talking about Zaha here. He wasn't good enough then and I don't believe he is now. Some players are just suited to being the big fish in a small pond.

Yes because outside of RVP Sir Alex was really good at transfers late in his career right?

Fairly sure that would be a breach of contract and Inter could basically do what they want with him.

Could they feed him into the jet engine right then and there on the tarmac? It would certainly send a message to the rest of the squad.

Fine him and be pissed off, which might work to make negotiations easier, but also could make inter decide to increase his price instead. Inter would rather not sell, that's the point

Smokescreen?

Could well be considering it reeks of the so called Morata Saga, then out of blue pops Big Rom. Doubt we would be one to haggle over a £50m player when we can 'buy a Suarez a season' I suspect something bigger is brewing.

So basically Inter Milan were being cnuts, wanted way more than he was worth and we wouldn't pay it. If they change there stance between now and September 1st we may go back but we will most certainly move on to someone else now

I hope we do.No point pursuing one Target and wasting whole summer on it. We did the same with fabregas. Maybe jose should also be a bit smart and choose some alternatives. Did he seriously think it would have been easy acquiring matic from Chelsea or dier from Tottenham.

Maybe he is right selling club have become more stubborn but even then you need to wisely choose your targets. A player from real.madrid, a player from Tottenham or a player from Chelsea. Chances are more of not getting them considering the clubs that are involved.

With Joe Hart between the posts if they hit their target four times they'll likely score four goals.

There is absolutely no way he's the only winger we're in for. I'm pretty sure Woody wouldn't make the same mistake of chasing a player all summer just to lose out in the end anyway. Once Perisic is in China we'll wrap up another player in a matter of days.

Who else have we been linked with though? At least the Lukaku link existed, even if it was a surprise in the end.

I get the feeling if we don't sign Perisic he might stick with what he has.

We have West Ham first game of the season, right? Waiting for him to puff out his cheeks, pound on his chest and run screaming out onto the pitch in his best war cry while the rest of the squad follow meekly behind.

Woody has leaked a few to a select journo's but he won't have shown his whole hand, perhaps because the other players we're interested in are already playing in the PL. It wouldn't make sense to publicly state players we're after close to home, it will piss people off immensely.

He really is an unlikable twat isn't he? Perfect for the likes of West Ham or Milwall though.

Neymar's father is a bit of a bellend isn't he? Took €30m in payment for the transfer from Santos, causing Barca to get a transfer ban, evaded tax for years and now he's all bent out of shape because Neymar's in Messi's shadow. This is a prime example as to why you don't mix family and business. He's hardly being objective here.
