Di Maria wanted out and was big flop, with a drain on wages. He wasn't in LVGs plans half a season in and was displaced by young.

Rooney was very much still in our plans and indifferent between moving and staying. Going back to the Matic example, I think he's indifferent too, and Chelsea won't sell if they don't want to flog him. Especially to us now.

Not true.
The same happened with Hazard and Pedro. And can't see any other club being interested in Matic and vice versa. They will sell to us but for a high fee. We have all the right to sign Lukaku. We haven't mugged them off.
Zeki Fryers is an example of mugging off.
We both had a fair chance to sign Lukaku and we did it. Nothing wrong in that.

Dimaria wanted out yes, because LVG used him wrong same as herrera. Di maria would have been great under mourinho.

You mean the team plane heading to LA tomorrow? He'll most likely have medical in LA and meet up with team on Monday. Doubt they'll have him fly home then depart with team.

It depends on the club and their manager, really.
Debuchy was never in Arsene's plans like Di Maria was not in LVG's, but he refused to sell to United.
Moratta is not in Real's plans but still they didn't budge on their asking price when we tried to sign him.
We could have done the same with Di Maria if we wanted and bearing his wages wouldn't have been such a difficult thing for a club like ours. Just to teach him and PSG a lesson, if we wanted to.
The fact is, Chelsea want to offload Matic and they will sell to us if we pay the right price.
Jose even allowed Cech to be sold to Arsene. Reasons are different but the sale is a fact.

Lastly, my point is that Chelsea will not stop doing business with us because we signed Lukaku.

Yes they're very similar, but Griezmann has been playing as one of the strikers alongside a target man (secondary striker), rather than as the playmaker behind the main striker (CAM). Also, after it was clear Griezmann wasn't coming, we briefed the media that we were looking more for a bigger target man up front (so not necessarily 10's).
And on your point on bidding for players, the same source that said we bid for Perisic (Di Marzio) has said we bid for Fabinho and Telegraph has said that we've had a bid for Dier rejected.

I said it before and I'll say it again. I think we should have sold him when it was rumored Jose wanted him at Chelsea his first season back. Glad he's achieved what he has as it was for United but he's been in decline for a number of years. Hard to say whether that has really hurt us since we lost Sir Alex as manager and those other two wackos were in charge. Sayanora Wayne.

Di Maria was dog shite and couldn't knuckle down any spot he was put in. Quite often he was given a go on the wing and couldn't complete 5 yard passes. Best saved for a di Marian thread, but my point is he was shite regardless of position.

Your examples are a bit bizzare. Deubachy was the only right back cover for Arsene and as such was required as a fall back. Morata was vital to Reals league success, he won most points for any club behind Leo Messi. Again, they would rather not sell him as he's an important player for them.

Chelsea will come around and do business if it comes to it, I don't see it happening this summer. They've had direct title rivals strengthened by seeing a top target stolen from under their nose. They will hold on to a good player to avoid strengthening them further.

This. DiMaria struggles to pass water, and Mourinho wouldn't stand for that anymore than LVG. The real question is why LVG sanctioned the buy in the first place when you can establish that fact having watched a handful of his games.

I don´t believe that for a second Di Maria showed no will to succeed here at all and was quite public before his move here he wanted Psg, Herrera still played with passion and hunger even tho he wasn´t having a great spell
 
With Mino Raiola running out of players to sell to us, I think is time we get back into bed with Jorge Mendez asap. I can see other clubs trying to bed him permanently.

Dont think mendes and riola are rivals. Mendes will always have good relation ship with us.
 
Massive blow for us if Dier doesn't join. He would've been perfect to allow Herrera and Pogba to push forward.

I hope we can get a similar player.
 


Sevilla have announced they have agreed a deal in principle with Aston Villa for the signing of Jordan Amavi.

Very promising player for Nice, who made the wrong choice by joining Villa and had his development severely hampered by an ACL injury. If he can return to form, it'll be a good gamble to take.
 
i can see us just signing the one more player , a midfielder , i did think it would be Dier as i can't see fabinho joining us.

I can't believe the media anymore after the Morata saga. The club seems to be working on targets away from the known names to the media.

I could understand sneering at Dier if we didn't support a team that regularly starts Fellaini.


I still don't think its too late to offer Everton a few quid extra to take Fellaini off our hands as well as old Wazza
