Lukaku purchase just got even better. But is fail to understand what's in it for everton.
Rooney is a lot better than some are willing to admit. Obviously not top class enough to command a starting berth in the most important position for United, but still very good in his own right. The echo-chamber narrative that makes him out to be useless is ridiculous. And then when people are presented with evidence that they're wrong, they're confused rather able to re-assess the reality.

Nah, he's rubbish. All emotions aside, he barely has a single attribute that will scare a top flight centre half anymore, and the calibre of defender who has dealt with him comfortably has gotten lower and lower over the last 3 seasons particularly.

Wait a minute, I thought our offer was refused and we were still talking?

A little too late from Chelsea, we just need to get medical done and he is ours!

I just can't take the Telegraph seriously - they blame Corbyn for the Battle of Hastings.

Aint gunna be pretty on here if it falls through. The "we made Madrid look like fools" theory may be tested

Wouldn't worry about it. The deal has been confirmed by insiders at United. It would be insanity for Everton to pull the plug now.

Rooney will always be one of the biggest stars who ever played for the club, his name will be on the top of best goalscorers of all time, the years he gave to entertain us will always be remembered. Good luck WR8&10 in the rest of your football future.
Over the moon, we've got the Roon.

I honestly think most of the football writers just make this stuff up.
Everyone wants be first and the majority of the time they land flat on their face. There is that saying though, throw enough shit and it'll stick eventually.

'Exclusive', i.e. stringing out a story as they've stories to write and we haven't completed the deal yet

Very much feels like this.

And then of course if this is the case then it guarantees another article, explaining how this article wasn't right because Lukaku had been swayed to go elsewhere. He's already signposted it by moaning about United giving Lukaku more money in this article.

It is funny though isn't it? Seeing Chelsea seem to be how everyone should conduct their business. Yet Jose was supposedly p'd. It appears Conte is even more p'd.
Don't mind Jose being pissed. He has every right to expect some transfers to be concluded for pre-season. And club has to look for its long term interests too. Part of the package.

For texting Costa that he's not in his plans? Yeah, bit daft to make it so clear he's available. With Atletico probably the only club interested and Costa wanting to move there, there's no incentive to pay that much. They'd be lucky to get half of that.
Yea, pretty daft that. I considered him the best striker in PL for the first half of the season. With how things played out with respect to the China interests was his to blame. But then Conte texting him was naivety. Atletico was already interested last season and he would have gone for 50 mill easily. Not right now though.
