Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

For someone who isn't Ronaldo/Messi and starts the season 29 years old?

Yes, hed instantly be the best striker in the league by far. Not going to happen though IMO

Lewandowski is incredible  getting him would be a huge coup but I highly doubt it.

Lewa is ridiculously talented. Anyone remember that knockabout video with Costa and Thiago?

If it's true about Lewandowski then i genuinely worry about us. We seem to keep pushing deals aside as soon as a shiny new toy becomes available. We'll end up with nothing and piss off half our targets in the process. Morata must be having second thoughts if he sees all this.

Don't believe everything you read in tweets, newspapers etc.

The transfer business is a game of hit, misses, decoys, distractions, threats, counter threats, deceptions, test of willpower, etc.

E.g Real wants De Gea, United wants to keep De Gea; United wants Morata, Real wants Mbappe and still wants De Gea; Ronaldo wants more money and attention, so he throws himself in the game with the tax decoy; Real wonders about making a killing from Ronaldo and Morata so they hike prices; Meanwhile Monaco stalls waiting for that extra 50 million a desperate Real may add to the fee for Mbappe; over in Germany, Lewansowski wants more money so he raises a storm - let the biddings begin; James is waiting, Andersen is keen; Darmien does not mind moving to Italy, Semido does not mind going to England, Sanchez wants more trophies, Pep's ego has been bruised so he is desperate to buy every attacker available e.g. Sanchez; Lukaku is desperate to move, Everton is desperate for a hundred million bucks; Torino knows everyone has gone crazy and Bellotti is their ticket to the next level so they hold out; Conte knows Abrahimovich is never satisfied with the league title so he is edgy about the pace of transfer moves etc.

It's like one blockbuster movie with many crazy sub plots. You know it will end but you never really know how. Too many players with major interests: the agents, the journalists, the club owners, the managers, the CEOs and football directors, the scouts, the players, the WAGS, the bookies, the FA officials, FIFA, even the tax authorities these days.

He regressed a bit last season but that's a very low price. Hendricks went for £10m an he's average at best. If I was Derby I'd be quoting £15-20m.

15-20 would just keep him prisoner at Derby. Nobody would pay that for him, better just spending it in Ligue Un or Portugal.

I like the way the rumours sway. It's ingenious one has to admit.

They come in spells. They hardly ever over ride.

You get Lukaku for a while, then Bellotti follows, Lacazette follows, then Morata follows, you then get Ronaldo, followed by Lewandowski. After Lewandowski, you'll probably get Diego Costa starting and then a return to Lukaku, Bellotti, etc.

In between, you are fed with slices of rumours for wingers and midfielders. You get Neymar for a while, then James Rodriguez for a while, then you get Garreth Bale, then you get Perisic, followed by Lucas Moura, Douglas Costa, then you get James Rodgriguez, then Anderson will claim that Jose Mourinho is his adopted father who loves him dearly.

Somewhere in there, they'll explore the DM position. Fabinho will run for a few weeks, then Eric Dier will take over, then Matuidi will catch on, followed by Varretti, then Matic will follow.

There are no stats available but it will be interesting to know how many fans develop high blood pressure from these transfer rumours.

I agree with everything apart from blockbuster movie. That would be one dull dull disappointing film. I would say more like a soap opera vs Big Brother, trash viewing but you can't help getting pulled in if watch for a period of time. The transfer threads are not for the faint hearted, sane people just wait for the news from United rather than have weeks of anguish, but where is the fun in that.

So that's Ronaldo and Lewandowski we've been linked to this week. Whatever will the press dream up next - Neymar?

That would be an incredibly poor deal for Derby County. We sold Jeff Hendrick for more than that last year and he's taken to the premier league like a duck to water. Will Hughes is even more talented and I've no doubt in my mind he'll achieve big things in the premier league. He won't wait for Derby County to get promoted, but I think we should hold out for a fee of at least double that. He's got 3 years on his contract and frankly could do better than Watford.

Lol, another story made up by the plastics to act like their club is special.

More like the Barcelona board (via MD) disseminating more slander, as they have done every season Rosell & Barto have been in power. Testament to how much Leo loves the club in spite of this disastrous board

MD reports Paulinho ( the former spurs midfielder) is a Barca target

Stating Goal.com though

Think we are in a strong position for Morata and position will get stronger if Chelsea close a deal for an attacker in coming weeks. Morata won't stay at RM for 14 appearances again, Madrid need to raise cash for Mbappe, the market for Morata above 60m pounds isn't strong, especially if Chelsea act.

I think Woodward will get the deal done at a reasonable price - ie not much more than 60m £. I'm sure Real want Mbappe before deadline day too.

No reason we can't be chasing our other targets if this one needs a little time
