I think last season we were very flexible as a team. We played 433, 4231, 352 etc etc. Jose prefers extra attacker, where james would thrive. We failed to break down teams when playing 433.

We have enough no 10's to play even if we want to switch in a 4231 for once. But it terribly lacks balance with our set of players. We only played 4231 against bus parking sides who came to park the bus and looked okay , But terribly failed against top sides in a 4231 and every defeat against top sides came in a 4231.
We only switched that system because of injuries and suspensions and fatigue against smaller teams as they sat back all the time.
A top side has balance in the system to perform consistantly and we lack that balance in a 4231.
