Transfer Tweets - Summer 2017 | Keep it on topic

Those direct quotes from lukaku don't look good... will he be happy to be second fiddle to costa?

If not, can we nick Costa?.. We would have to shell out top dollar I would have thought.

Exclusive: Lukaku does not want Mourinho reunion, keen on Chelsea return

Wow that's a bold prediction regarding a player that Mourinho got rid of in the first place. All the facts point to Mourinho not wanting him in the first place therefore we are not in for him.

Great journalism "lets hedge our bets, Joe surely would not buy him back for near 100m after getting rid of him because he did not rate him as a player"

Wonderful tactic if true :lol: Also begs the question of how Inter are linked with James Rodriguez if they cant spend money/don't have money to spend.

They only need € 20-30 mln by 30 June because (from Uefa.com):

Inter agrees to report a maximum break-even deficit of €30 million for the financial year ending in 2016 and no break-even deficit for the financial year ending in 2017 (30 June).

And they cant spend now because (from Uefa.com):

Inter agrees that for the financial year ending in 2016 and for the financial year ending in 2017 the employee benefit expenses to revenue ratio is restricted and that the amortisation and impairment of the costs of acquiring players’ registrations is limited.

From 1 July they can begin to spend

Agreed.

They're the digital version of the daily back pages - surely no one takes that nonsense seriously so why do it with a Tweet?

Especially UK journos - they literally don't have a clue who our targets are or who we have contacted.

While i don't know how much fact there is in utd wanting lukaku, the notion that lukaku was sold by mourinho is false, he was sold by chelsea higher ups who at that time were not pleased with his or his agent's behaviour and had nothing to do with mourinho, very few of the transfer decisions at chelsea much like at barcelona or real madrid are taken by the manager.

Wouldn't the transfer go through on July 1st anyway though making this a moot point?

With Lukaku most likely going to Chelsea, hopefully Morata will either join Milan or stay put at Real so we can go for Lacazette (although he seems intent on joining Atletico).

There's one target down.
So really? Who are suitable targets for us?
Greizman - not happening
Lukaku - apparently going to Chelsea
Belotti - a bit too pricey
Morata, Lacazette, Mbappe - they all want to go to Madrid
Lewandowski, Cavani, Benzema, Higuain, Kane - kind of hard to pull off and not sure they would leave their clubs.

It feels like we're either doing our business too deep underground or we are not doing it at all.
We need a top class #9. Who will it be?

Morata hasn't far to go if he wants to go to Madrid.
