The muppet slayer is back. A bit late this year.

I don't get statements like this. How have #MUFC indicated?
Public statement? quote? or is it a baseless assumption? sure enough it's likely we won't get him, but he said we've indicated. How have we indicated? that's not journalism, it's fantasy. We haven't said we're in for him and we haven't said we're not. End of story.

Charlie fecking Austin, I can see it happening

I don't get all the hate against Austin. He's a good striker who can come in and do a job. A striker who will be happy to sit on the bench for large parts of the season but will provide good competition for Rooney. And £15m isn't a lot of money.

Perhaps it's a stop gap for a bigger signing next summer who we couldn't attain this one (Muller?)?

As long as his legs work and stay attached he'd be a decent backup striker for sure.

Can we stop with all the Austin nonsense. It's all based off a single fake Tweet from a fake account about a fake transfer to laugh at the expense of Utd. The fact it keeps getting picked up and discussed makes the journos look stupid and us look stupider.

It wouldn't be any more silly than say Chelsea signing Remy last season, though I doubt it would be portrayed that way. He's a very good and consistent goalscorer, getting 18 PL goals in a season for a team as dreadful as QPR is no mean feat.

Reckon Martial will be our final signing, it's all way too quiet.

Very odd to set up a live blog to just post about all the players leaving us. They'll probably fill it with stuff about Martial soon, quotes and pictures and stuff, but at the moment it looks very underwhelming.

Not checked but apparently he played the most minutes of any QPR player so not sure why he's considered injury prone. I'd prefer Berahino but for a fair price Austin is as good a backup striker as anyone in the league. Outscored the likes of Sanchez, Rooney, Benteke, Berahino playing for QPfeckingR.

I don't think it's that he's injury prone, there was something I heard last weekend on the radio about him having some form of problem with his knee.. which might become a problem.
