How is it amateurish? DDG never had any intention of staying and if reports are true Madrid are offering him less than we did, you cant compete with that. How can United realistically do better than hold out to the last minute in the hope of an insane bid from Madrid?
Well we can hold on to him seeing that he has Euros to worry about next season and would be really insane to not act professionally or play up his best. What we have done is basically bend over for Madrid, again! Two months earlier or now. It does not change the fact and we now don't even have time to get in a replacement for whom we would not be fleeced seeing that it is the last two days of the window.

The name Keylor Navas is in negotiation. It seems that the Costa Rican end at Old Trafford.

God, another player that doesn't even want to play for us. Go for Griezmann ffs, big United fans for once.

If we're buckling on DDG, I severely hope Woody is going to get going on moves for Bale, Ramos, and Navas.

And Otamendi and Pedro.

And Falcao

All this business has left me feeling rather glum and honestly a little disillusioned with the club. Silly? Probably, but it's how I feel at this point. It should have been sorted months ago.

By holding out until next summer giving us time to find a quality replacement. We spend over £20mil on a loan for Falcao last summer. Losing the same amount to keep DDG another season would be a far better use of money.

its idiotic if not amateurish

You dont keep a situation like this to the last moment in the hope of an extra quid or two. Especially a freaking goalkeeper, a hole much harder to fill than most

Madrid were never going to pay an insane fee for someone whose contract expires next year. We should've either accepted their bid earlier this summer or stood our stance and let him go for free next year.

Man United the only club in history to move 3 keepers in one day. That should be illegal under Fifa rules.
:lol::lol:

Don't really care about the fee now, just want to know we have a good keeper going into the rest of the season. Whether that's De Gea or Navas or someone else, just don't want to go forward with Romero as our main keeper.

so, accept their embarrassing bid, and end up shelling more money out on a replacement, or let him go for free, even though as we've seen his heart and head aren't with us anymore. What could go wrong!

I much prefer this third option, which showed them they can't bully us around, we did our best to negotiate to get some of their stars into the mix, and looks likely we might get their other decent keeper, and a higher fee than originally planned.

But it's so simple to us fans eh? Click button, send bid, get player, championship manager style.

Getting dicked over by Ramos, selling Di Maria when he had 4 years on his contract, screwing up the Pedro deal and bending over backwards to Real for De Gea. What a great window.
