Did you read Sid Lowe's article?

Basically, it's a killer, a transfer muppet killer that is.

Barcelona would sell Neymar only if they want to. The buy out clause holds only for Spanish clubs and even Spanish clubs could not buy Neymar for 190 mil Eur.
So, wouldn't you think we would have done our research and not wasted our time? Knowing us, probably not. We're all talk.

I guess we did our research with Ramos, too?

Neymar will come here only if Barca are happy to sell him for what we are ready to offer. It depends on Barcelona, not only on Neymar.

Why didn't Barca think of that when Real Madrid bought Figo?

If that was the case, he would've gone to Madrid who offered more than Barcelona did.

He will eventually become the star man of Barcelona. Judging by all his comments about Messi, he doesn't mind not being the team's absolute star. If Barca come even close to a deal that Woody would offer, he will choose to stay.

Snap out of it, guys.
Can't see him being the star for at least another 3 years. Even then there's no guarantee due to the evolution of other talent around the world.

It's also very naive to take anything footballers say as gospel.

You'll lose your mind if you pay attention to tabloid media. One moment, Lvg will only go for absolute best world class recruitment. Next, Alexandre fecking Pato is the answer.

BILD linking us with de Bruyne tomorrow. Something like "we all thought it was between City and Bayern, but now LVG turns his attention to de Bruyne, after failing to land Pedro and Müller"

That would be sweeeeet as feck.

I agree very alarming that we spend 8m pounds net in this transfer window, cut our wage bill for about 0,5m pounds/week and strengthen our squad. Very alarming for the media that is because they have to write this sort of shit that are totally out of context....

Liverpool spent 120m once and went from 2nd to 6th...and why is it that With other clubs , it is net spend but with us its gross amounts..

Stupid hacks
What rubbish. It is a very valid point. We havent sold anyone we didnt have/want to.. and signed players worth 220m (if that number is accurate).. and the squad is nowhere near as good as it should be after that kind of spending. If you take Di Maria out of the equation, it is still 175m spent and us being toothless.

We need to remember, millions of people grew up despising United because of how successful we were. Everyone is now jumping at the opportunity to shove a knife in, they had to wait a long long time.

Wow, and what holes would this be. We have cover at GK, we have a significant group that can play back 4, even more coverage in midfield, so that leaves the striker. A choice made by LVG to have Rooney, Hernandez and Wilson unless there is a WC striker available. Hardly gaps or holes in the squad.

Looks to me as though Mata and Smalling may end up being the only inherited players that are permanently in the first 11. I know Rooney is there now, but if we got a WC striker, he may be dropped.

About the release clauses. How do we explain Herrera (and Martinez for that matter) then? If I recall we essentially gave him a check to buy himself out of his contract through his release clause. Surely you could do the same with the Neymar story? Again I don't believe he's on his way here just asking for clarity on release clauses

Haven't found a tweet about it but apparantly (according to Turkish sources) Besiktas wants to loan Lindegaard for a year.

and everything you read in the media is true...
Well, this is going nowhere if you come up with such an argument. Madrid even tried signing when he was a youngster (both AS and Marca reported this a few years ago), but he rejected them back then due to being homesick.

Football is unpredictable, Messi might just decline sooner than we all think despite not showing any signs of it atm, but keep this in mind:
- Neymar's just coming off a season where he won the Treble while scoring 39 goals. His role will only increase from here on.
- Barcelona and Madrid are the absolute pinnacle of world football in many footballers' eyes.

I'm not taking it as gospel. If you saw how much Neymar licks Messi's arse, you'd understand.

Don't talk about spend, talk about NET SPEND!
It's not just about net spend. It about how many players we needed to replace in that 12 months. I did wrote a post about 3 weeks ago that shows that we didn't spend that much at all given how much players left the club. And 59m pounds of that many is for the player who is was already sold...

Just about the only "holes" in our squad is the striker and one player in the 3 behind the striker... And the striker can be fixed if Rooney just gets back to his best. So really, one player is all that is needed to make everything work, a wide, pacey player who can score, make runs in behind and is creative.
