"World Exclusive". Only because no one else is crazy enough to print something like that.

It would be good or at least prudent if United first made the team full of solid performers in all essential positions before trying to get special players. Goalkeeper, defence and attack ie the spine is still not solid enough.

I agree..Special players should move us to a higher level..but there needs to be a solid spine before that..

Right, so the sun thinks we're going to sell another forward a matter of days after selling Pedro and can't play a replacement until January. Isn't it great to be paid to make up rubbish.

Absolutely right. What a job they have to write such rubbish and get paid for it...

So, now it makes sense.
We were never "in" for Pedro. No. We were not in for an attacker who was looking to leave Barca and who we were linked with on a daily basis for about 1 month. No. No. No.
We were really "in" for Neymar. An attacker who is doing well for his team, loved by Barca fans, at the best time in the World. Who, up to now, we have never been linked with.

Perhaps a journalist who is a fan of MUFC, didnt like the idea of losing out to Chelsea has conjured this nonsense up?

Personally, I'd have gone for Messi...that would've sold more papers.

I believe that LVG is now doing this.
We had 3 players, who I'd have classified as Galacticos - DDG, Di Mara, Falcao. The later 2 have left. And DDG is being fought over.
This year, all our signings have been relatively cheap, so there does seem to be a change in strategy here.

Jesus christ, they aren't even fecking trying anymore. The thing is, they (must) know it's bullshit but still everyone will talk about it and give them the desired attention.

Suarez. Imagine the shit storm in Liverpool, imagine the out rage of Carra, imagine all the on-line petition from RAWK memebers

Ok, Pedro... a player we could have bought. Playing the bench for Barca and wanting time on the pitch, realistic signing. Can see why we didn't go for him though. But now things are going from silly to plain ludicrous... Müller, Bale, Griezman and Neymar. Why not go for Messi and Ronaldo... perhaps the Müller-saga is a cover up for really getting Neuer to replace DDG?

We are a big club, we should be able to attract big names... but things are really getting out of hand. My bet is that the sun is running out of readers

To be honest, if people believe that we are actively interested in Muller, I don't see why it is that incredible that we have also enquires about Neymar. Whether they will sell him is an entirely different matter.

It's a weird one, but Custis is a really strident Newcastle fan. Could see the logic of making such a link if he had the agenda of an ultra-Utd supporter, but I just can't understand how any seasoned journalist could print such an obvious pile of BS. And what sort of editor would agree to put this tosh, front & centre, on the paper's back page?
Maybe Mr. Custis is simply trying to curry favour with the hierarchy at OT, and ingratiate his way into getting some future exclusives? In reality in just makes all concerned, from the club ( by association ), to the red-top media, look rather desperate.

Woke up this morning to find the Neymar stories. Of course, like everyone else, I think it's nonsense but just imagine this came off? I would implode.

It does beg the question, if Woody was flying to Barcelona and it wasn't for Pedro, who was/is it for?

Of course it was for Pedro. LVG is just trying to save face.

Both are inconceivable but neymar is even more ridiculous. He's a future balon dor winner, something I don't see muller achieving.

Have we not signed him yet? I wanted him on the bench for today's game :(

The sun aren't saying Barcelona are going to sell him, they are saying United are trying to sign him. There is a difference.

They are trying to cover their backside after claiming that Woodward was in Barcelona to conclude Pedro's deal.

As tough enough as it is for us to get back top to the top while our rivals strengthen so much could you imagine IF we got Neymar, Chelsea got Pogba and City got KDB? The PL would be fecking immense.

You can all laugh about Neymar, but when Chelsea swoop in and sign him within 24hrs, you will know it was real. ;-)

Every paper said that. No way is any journalist putting their name to that story, least of all the sports editor, if that's not true.

In that case they were wrong about Pedro.

kdb isn't even in the same league as the other two.

Neymar and pogba are the potential ballon d'or winners of tomorrow.

With all the dodgy dealings surrounding his move didn't he end up costing them something like 100million anyway? Nonsense.

"Transfer/Signing fee: €57.1 million (the fee reported at the time of Neymar’s presentation)

Operating costs: €29.1 million

Salary: €44 million (€8.8 million per year over the length of Neymar’s five-year contract)"

Ronaldo's salary would've also pushed his cost close to 200m euros over the 6 years if you took that into account, but nobody usually does. Still it looks like a very good deal for Barcelona - not a good one for Santos though.

we're in need of some positive media coverage. the last few weeks we've just seemed both desperate, indecisive and naive, and yes the papers write what they want to like the Neymar story, but you don't hear this shit from the likes of citeh and chelsea.
