You are right. But, dont forget the wage factor. We will pay him more money than any other club in the World, even if he plays for our reserves.
At his age, I too, would be thinking about the wage situation, because you never know what may happen in the next 3-5 years.

How do you know he was in Barcelona. Even with that Barcelona story there are about 3 theories. He went there but got back quickly, He went there but got back a bit later, he went there and stayed for Bilbao game and - United representatives were at the game.
Also there were thousands reports of us being after Gaitan for instance.
