Yeah that is my feeling as well, just look at this for example

I mean it's ok to question his transfers but that's pretty poor form from a journo imo

Why?

I reckon Lvg was the one who sorted bastian. Apart from that Di Maria happened due to other clubs like psg being restricted and falcao was basically something that landed on his lap on deadline day

All the other signings are ones you would expect a club like Utd to sign or close quite easily and he has still managed to arse some of them up

He is deservedly a joke oF a man who looks so far out of his depth it would be funny if I wasn't a Utd fan. I hope he gets a lot of critisism as not for the first time he has made the club look like a bunch of amateurs

Nice read.

It's good we keep these journalists scarcely fed, they'r all wankers.

It's strange really that you give him no credit for the transfers he has done while going after him for every one we failed with.
For paying an extra 3 or 4 mill for Fellaini because they waited

The Herrera shambles

Our initial agreed fee for falcao if he had become permanent

Our ridiculous pursuit of fabregas and now Pedro

It doesn't read well

So you're blaming Woodward for initial agreed fee if it had become permanent.

Now I've seen it all.

So is this guy a Chelsea fan? I mean he has some "Operation Pedro" James Bond type article up right now. I have no doubt we fecked the Pedro deal up but is he ignoring the previous 4 buys Woodward completed this season? It doesn't matter that LvG was instrumental in Memphis and Bastian as this guy basically credit Jose, Fabregas and his bird for getting Pedro signed.

We've always overpaid. As for the Falcon bit, clutching at straws comes to mind.

No club is perfect in the market, anyways it is not relevant to this thread so no point in going on.

I thought that was rather calm

I don't actually agree with your previous post but this "Calm down" "Drama queens" "Caf Meltdown" "Spoiled fans" shit has been going on all day, as apparently no one can quite calmly just feel that the club fecked up on Pedro and feel it's a missed opportunity for us to improve our side in attack.

But we have apparently just passed up on a player that has won titles galore, gets into one of the best spanish national sides in front of many very good players including our own Juan Mata and could elevate us attacking wise to next level. Im sorry it wreaks of incompetence... & then Mane, I am pinching myself to see if I am dreaming.

okay

I genuinely think that after not getting Pedro the last possible thing Woodward would do is to brief the media about a player from Southampton who we are really unlikely to sign, it would not help him in any possible way

He's a Villa fan.

Buying Bastian for just over 6m kinda goes against your theory.

Or are you claiming LvG was taking care of the negotiating on that one?

Almost everyone is disappointed that we missed or ignored Pedro, but that's silly to ignore all the good signings that we made, all the great deals negotiated by Woodward. And it's silly to consider that when a deal goes through it's because of everyone but Woodward and when we miss an opportunity it's Woodward's personal fault.

He was available, wanted to leave and obviously had their blessing. They allowed a great servant to go on the cheap like we have done in the past. It doesn't sound like it was a difficult transfer even if it was surprising to us.

Even if you give him thumbs up for this one which I find it hard to I can't look past everything else. I am not enjoying the way the club has gone about its business since Fergie left.

This season's Fellaini. great.
Hopefully.

It's when posters do nothing but focus on the negatives that frustrates a lot on here.

I actually don't normally

But I do have issues with woody (which might be a little obvious :))
First summer was disastrous, partly cause of Moyes. Second summer we bought Herrera, Rojo, Blind, Shaw. ADM was a great buy then, we didnt know it would prove to be a disastrous one, Falcao was a risk worth taking, we didnt buy him and he seems to be past it.
This summer we bought 4 players in positions in which we needed new players, didnt overpay, got the job done. Its strange you wont give him any credit whatsoever. Its his job to get the players manager wants and this summer he delivered.

I don't quite know what to think of the bould Ed. And in a way I don't really give a feck. To me, he is not a very appealing character. But no-one outside the inner circle at MUFC really has a clue what is going down in the Pedro dept, and consequently all are left guessing. IF Pedro was a lot more brilliant than he is, I would be seriously peed off, but as other posters have observed, a lot of good work has already been done in the transfer market. Its not just down to LVG or whatever, obviously its a team thing, and Ed deserves his share of credit for a lot of good work. Seems like he may have learnt a bit from previous mistakes. Rather than stay riveted on the Transfer Thread I am happier now to enjoy watching the collection of individuals in the squad be forged into a team. For sure, I would like a top class forward to bolster things, but I have pretty solid trust in Ed and LVG to do their jobs in those areas.

I'm all for working with what they have and getting the best out of the players. If they had come out a month ago and said we are finished and happy with the squad I would be fine about that

Let's not forget bidding the same amount of money for Baines twice in the same summer, my personal favourite.

Woody has been getting a ridiculous amount of praise for paying way, way over the odds for ADM and being the only CEO willing to take up a Falcao package that seemed to be offered around to every top club. We've overpaid for most of the players we've bought during his tenure, have sold insultingly cheap, and we have messed up quite a few transfers. There are some good exceptions, almost all of them this summer, but everything points to him being very, very mediocre at best.

The only way I can some up some of the posts in here is 'hysteria'. Some people just completely losing their shit. It's hilarious to watch.

Yeah sure. I mean lets forget about all the transfers he did manage. Memphis,Darmian,Basti,Schneiderlin.Lol.

I can't help but feel with Pedro we'd have got him if we really wanted him. We throw £100m at Madrid and Bayern for Bale and Muller, yet haggle over a couple of million for Pedro. It doesn't add up. I can't say I'm too disappointed about missing out on him either.

Woodward is a clown for overpaying (subjective) for the players we have
Gets criticised for not going over our valuation for Players we don't buy.
These posts are all over the place today
