I wonder what Chelsea fans had thought about Pedro a week ago, when everybody thought that was a United transfer

Well, LVG has publicly said that we lack creativity / pace up front so either Woody has cocked this up big time, or we have a better player lined up - I hope it is the latter. We have had enough time to wrap this one up.

He's been saying we lack pace and creativity up front. Not specifically on the wing iirc.

Besides if Memphis and mata.stay wide won't be surprised if we look at a more central player now too.
No, on the wing.

He also name dropped young and mata as not being creative or fast enough as robben/neymar

Listen it's whatever if he doesn't want pedro then fine but I don't want to hear him moaning mid season about us lacking firepower up front. That's all.

We need another striker more than a wideman.
Seems LVG sees something in Adnan so that could only be a good thing

I literally cannot think of anyone available who's the same calibre.

Me either. But I don't think we're that inept. They has to be a reason he's not already signed other than wanting to pay €5m in instalments.

Depay and Januzaj's performances changed his mind?

It was probably mata that was going out if Pedro came from the team.

Lvg so far has seemed more discontent with the central front 2. Pedro doesn't play there.

I just dont understand how we can get rid of RvP and Falcao and not go for another striker?
Rooney hasn't impressed at all at the moment, and besides Memphis, we have no creativity. If we truly are done, we have to hope for an injury free season, which is very unlikely

I know Pedro isn't a striker, but he could have got us some goals at least

Right well we either target a #10 or LVG was convinced by Rooney's 5 minute cameo in #10 and we target a striker. Is anyone available for either, I don't think so. Bit risky not signing anyone else in attack.

That's us done then .......... unbelievable if it's because we wouldn't meet the clause
Honestly can't see it. LVG doesn't seem like the kind of manager who would specify a player with a caveat of "but only if it's below this much". Woody has enough experience to know how to get a deal done. I'm wondering if this is simply a case of us holding back to see how our striking options are after a few games (they're terrible) and switching targets.

How many times are they going to trot out that nonsense every time we don't land a target?
Ridiculous isn't it. We suddenly drop our interest as soon as it comes out that he's signing for Chelsea.

Not good at all if Chelsea beat us to Pedro. We desperately need players like him.

28m plus 2 add ons is exactly what we offered isn't it?
So it cant be about money, i can believe Louis ended our interest. Hopefully Pereira or somebody showed enough in training to make him believe he needs game time and can't inflate an already bloated squad

All this crap about showing in training. Michael Carrick was likely good in training and got hauled off at HT. Wayne Rooney does the training and hasn't scored I think for 9 games now.

Pedro would suit the LvG style of play & would get a lot more game time at United than at Chelsea.

If we wanted to sign him that badly, we wouldn't let a few million compromise the deal, we're rich as feck.

Imo if these stories are try and we've pulled out of the deal, we're close to signing someone better. I fecking hope so anyway.

Is this the first time this Clyne story has been mentioned? Weird that they'd sit on it for this long, if so.
Nope, I think similar was mentioned previously. Our interest in Clyne did end abruptly, as far as I recall.

No it was reported a while back that we tried to sign Clyne but moved onto other targets when we couldn't get it done

Maybe so, but it looks like after the whole Di Maria situation it seems like we don't want to spend any of it!
