If pedro is really interested in joining us more than city why would we pay not try to reduce the price? Clearly we have no worry of him changing his mind. Then if we get him for a slightly smaller upfront fee it is beneficial.

If this "buyout clause" is just a gentleman's agreement between Barca and Pedro then it has no legal power to force Barca to give us the player on our terms. They could put all kinds of terms on it that make it unworkable if they don't really want to lose the player.
Its crazy how many times this has been repeated and it still needs repeating.
I think some maybe missing a big point, we haven't qualified for the UCL just yet. I reckon there is likely a deal or 2 that is hinging on our successfull qualification into the UCL main.
Agreed, people just vent their frustration while being misinformed without finding out what's actually happened.. I think Pedro's thread title needs to be changed to include "gentlemans agreement"

I reckon we've still not given up hope on Muller or bale and until we give up completely then the pedro deal will not be completed .
We have laid a considerable amount out in transfer fee plus wages on bastian with no sell on value and the same would have to be said will happen for pedro so maybe that's coming into it as well .
