Bayern captain Philipp Lahm says Thomas Muller could join Man United this summer. http://es.pn/1RMiQb6 #mufc

Speaking at a news conference in Shanghai on Tuesday, Lahm, 31, admitted that it is conceivable that the Germany international could leave for the Premier League.

"In football you can imagine everything," he said. "It's not my decision. In football, it goes so, so quickly.

"It's not always only up to the player. There are clubs who get players, players go.

"In football everything goes very, very quickly. I think you can never give a guarantee that it will work like this or like that.

"As a result, I certainly can't give any guarantee for Thomas Muller or talk about whether I can imagine [him leaving]. You can always imagine anything happening."

EDIT.

....

"We're still a top club that every year, or in the last few years, has made at least the Champions League semifinal," he said.

"We have a top team that's very well-equipped this year as well and that can challenge on all fronts.

"So you don't have to be worried about anything. And I'm definitely not worried about Thomas -- I don't think we're going to let him go."

Looks like it's going to be City. Pretty stupid from us to pass him over as Ramos ain't coming.

Why would City spend huge money on a CB after spending huge money on a CB last summer? They're just going to have £40m Mangala warming the bench?

Indeed very strange, they also have Demicheles and Kompany AND the promising Denayer.
Weird signing, they really should be looking at CM for me

I know. Woodward is taking a huge risk here with the Ramos situation, and that would make our search for a defender even harder if he doesn't join us in the end.

Its very possible that we have other targets, I think Woody has shown he knows what he is doing this summer so far. Just look at how some were moaning when we passed on Clyne and didn't get Alves... then we ended up with Darmian who most of the caf would take other both of those.

I'd be very surprised if we sign Otamendi. Don't believe we're currently after another CB given the outlay on Mangala only last summer and the new contracts given to Demichelis and Denayer.

Superdeporte could be making all this up to help valencia will the sale. Not the most reliable source.

Who's the striker that's been in the media who Louis isn't interested in? There's been approximately 16

With Kompany's form last season, signing Otamendi might not be so crazy.
If he's fully fit, though, surely he plays? They won't drop their captain and the face of the club for any length of time would they?

Signing a £40m+ CB as a "just in case" would be silly.

With no FFP restrictions, they'll be right back to their crazy spending. Remember how many strikers they'd signed post takeover?

It wouldn't be inconceivable for City to sign him and relegate Kompany to the sidelines or gently move him out of the picture altogether.

I dont think the sheikh is the sentimental type, he wants winners and he wants silverware, and if you cant deliver then you wont last.

The FFP restrictions haven't been lifted, FFP is still in the play, their squad restriction sanction have been lifted, nothing else.

They dont have free reign to spend willy nilly.

So what happened to "I only want United, I'll even pay United to take me" etc etc?

Sounds like the whole thing was bollocks from the start.
I dont think he has ever declared United specifically. It was more like, id help whoever wants me by reducing my wages. He wants to get out of Valencia - this is probably his best time to leave.

If/when that happens, I wonder if he'll feel he's the moral victor.

Last point is true as we still have to comply with FFP but we have had FFP restrictions lifted on our spending. Remember, last season our net spend could not total more than £50m. Now we can spend whatever we can afford to spend.
