Marca report that Manchester United and Real Madrid have not spoken for over a week and negotiations have completely "frozen".

Marca say that Ed Woodward has told Jorge Mendes, who reprsents Madrid in this, that he wants €40m or Keyor Navas and Sergio Ramos for De Gea

Marca say Ramos plays a key role here and negotiations are likely to be re-started after a "face to face" between Ramos and Pérez.

This in order to what sort of role Ramos might play in any transfer, Marca say. For now, the negotiations have been frozen.

Sport Witness:

Nothing on Di Maria today in L'Equipe or Le Parisien. The fallow field system.

Oh hang, there's a sentence in Le Parisien saying Olivier Letang, PSG DOS, stayed in France to continue Di Maria discussions.

Sterling said: “Everyone thought I threw a sicknote in. I was in training on the Tuesday - in the changing room my stomach started hurting. I still went out and trained though.
“That day I went home, and I told the doc I was ill. My stomach was rumbling and I had diarrhoea.

“The doctor just said to me you can’t be around the other players. For the next 48 hours, I stayed at home.

“That’s what the club doctor told me to do. When that 48 hours was done I came back to training as normal.”

Ed Woodward- you're a beauty. Don't bent over.

It is so much so that Real Madrid have shelved their idea of pursuing De Gea this month and will wait to August to try again for him.

SuperDeporte reporting that Eugenio López, Otamendi's agent, and Jorge Mendes spent this weekend in Porto having meetings with two clubs.

They were held on Saturday, SuperDeporte say, one in the morning, one in the evening. The two clubs? Manchester United and Manchester City.

SuperDeporte report that both Manchester clubs are going for Otamendi and will prepare formal offers to present to Valencia this week.

The meetings, held in Porto, was for Mendes and López to be informed on everything possible for negotiations to start with Valencia.

SuperDeporte say that after the meetings the two agents called Otamendi to tell him that a move is close, and bids will come in this week.

SuperDeporte also say that more communication will take place tomorrow (Tuesday) to talk about concrete amounts.

SuperDeporte say that contracts offered to Otamendi, by the Manchester clubs, and also previously by Madrid, PSG and Chelsea have been between €3,5 and €4m a season.

SuperDeporte say that following the call Otamendi celebrated with an Argentine barbecue and partied well into the night in Buenos Aires. Of the participants were one Erik Lamela, SuperDeporte say, alongside several other footballers

SuperDeporte also reiterate that Otamendi is ready to return to Valencia on Friday and he will not force anything. He has told Valencia this. No, there is no mention of what Otamendi would prefer between Manchester City and Manchester United.

So the leaks by Woody that we're not in for Otamendi... Do they mean city are ahead of us in the race to buy him or is he genuinely low priority for us?

Woody's told journo's in the past that we're not in for a player only for us to sign the player a few days later. Herrera's an example of that.

Or that Woody's once again been feeding the media lies and half-truths, as he has been doing constantly since the Moyes era ended. Already made a few journalists look like right tits over a few stories.

That's a possibility indeed, guys. It could also be him trying to reduce the price.

Then again, I get the feeling that we do indeed prefer Ramos, and with no breakthrough in that direction, positive or negative, we don't want to commit to Otamendi just yet either.

Hmmm hope he doesn't sign for City, though would be very annoying.

Talk Sport: Cavani's agent says he's staying at PSG

Thank heavens!!! What a welcome blow that is

A devastating blow. Hopefully we're not going to suffer similar devastation at the hands of Gaitan and Cillessen.
