It's going to take something public like that to resolve it otherwise both clubs end up having players who don't want to remain where they are. Is there a sense in Madrid that the club should let Ramos go to get this done given Ramos personal stance? Obviously, I mean other than Perez himself.

Been asking myself that and I'm not sure. I think we'd try and hold out for a world record fee for a keeper. £30m is a lot to turn down though for someone with a year left on his contract who wants to go. Don't see us accepting anything less than that.

That would be a british record transfer, only £20m less the the world record transfer and make him the most expensive defender ever. He is 29 so that won't happen.

Yup. It's not he wants to leave United, he wants to move to Real. And I don't buy the girlfriend/family rumors either. He wants to be Spain's no. 1 and it's obvious that his chances to do that will be better if he plays for Madrid. He's hardly got a look in the national setup despite being one of the top 3 goalkeepers in the world for the last three seasons. He's have seen Herrera and Mata not getting chances and must be wondering whether playing in England may be one of the reasons.

You surely realise yourself that would be ridiculous, looking at the respective contracts, ages, and perceived unhappiness, then the only fair thing would be a straight swap, or at worst a small fee from ourselves, a 65 million euro fee plus DDG would be simply insane, as I'm sure you know.
Anyway as it stands we are looking at Otamendi + DDG (for one more year), or Cillessen + Ramos, from a fan point of view the former is by far the most attractive option, especially when you factor in the uncertainty it will add over DDG having a change of heart during the season to come.
