Just checked Saints website, Schneiderlin indeed isn't in the squad to at the Audi Cup, and no mention of him or his absence on there Twatter channel. It's on like Donkey Kong.

Maybe Ed travelled to Salzburg from Munich (Audi Cup is in Salzburg / Austria) after holding talks for Bastian.
 
Is that tournament like the Emirates Cup where you play two games in two days because if that's the case then he'll probably play tomorrow. If not, it's very weird because there would surely be no point bringing him over there if he wasn't fit enough to participate in any games.
 
I've never seen a deal that makes more sense than Schneiderlin. He wants to leave, Southampton have openly said they will sell for the right price, we have had a bid rejected (which confirms our interest), the fans want him and he's exactly the type of player we need. This is a deal that simply has to happen. You imagine our team with Bastian, Morgan and Herrera pulling the strings?

They play Valencia today and then come back, but before going to the Netherlands on July 18.

They play Valencia this afternoon in a 45 minute game,then depending on the result play either a 3rd place play off or final this evening.

He's a little annoying alright - especially with all his supposed insights, but he's United through & through, & says what he's heard etc.

Maybe sometimes his sources get it wrong, but i gather his heart is in the right place man..

Yeah, Red Bull Salzburg v Werder Bremen on BT now. Then Soton v Valencia, the 3rd place match and the final. All 45 minutes each.

An U 19 French national player, played for Valenciennes and we had a deal last summer for him, but failed because we didnt get the papers finished or i dont know for some other reason. We were also interested in him now, but he moved surprisingly from Valenciennes to RB Salzburg. he is a CB and 16 years old.

Edit: U17 French National palyer, but played for U19 Valenciennes.
 
German journalist on Talksport reporting that Bastian's transfer fee was about 20m euros ie, about £15m.

I think he will be a top keeper once he makes the move up to a bigger club. And frankly if LvG wants him who are we to disagree.
