I am guessing here of course, but maybe DDG was not keen to go there before they sort out Cassilas and show him the exit as DDG would not want to get into the politics of Cassilas while he is still there..
Cassilas is probably not going to leave easy, which means they have to probably subsidize his salary for the remaining years left which would hit Madrid's pockets and the moment he leaves, they have Navas and no one else..
Then they would either be forced to pay up close to our valuation or what we ask or go for a swap between Ramos and DDG, which suits us either way..
Of course I am guessing here, but I hope it plays out this way..
