De Gea, who is already in England, is expecting a new renewal offer from United, offer that he won´t accept.

In case that Ramos finally leaves, Benitez doesn´t want Otamendi to replace him

Don't worry. He'll sign instead 7 new defenders whose names no-one has ever heard (8m each of them so 56m for all of them) and then complain in half season for not having money to spend on his defense.

Hopefully the board won´t allow him to choose the players. I read that Biglia was his favorite option for the midfield:nervous:

Remember, it's Perez who deals with transfers, not Benitez.

:( so, another young player in front of his last chance to shine, something like Isaac Cuenca last year
Since Rodgers became Liverpool manager nearly every Spaniard there hasn't had a good time:

Suso (was already at the club pre-Rodgers) - rarely played, with him blasting Rodgers after departing for good in January
Aspas (signed for €9m, sold two years later for €6m) - utter muck, surprised they got that much for him when selling him... weirdly the club they sold him to sold him to another straight away
Alberto (signed for €8m, sold two years later) - didn't work out at all for him either
Moreno (signed for €18m) - mixed season, did better when Liverpool switched to wing backs but ended the season weakly... review from Liverpool fans here
Manquillo (signed for two year loan with fee of €2m) - baffling is the only word I can use to describe this. He was highly rated at Atletico, when he played at Liverpool for the most part he played well but then got frozen out and now there's reports his loan is going to be cancelled

Thanks for the info , Suso likes the party too much, Aspas is very talented but Liverpool should have studied more the player to see that he wouldn´t fit in England. Manquillo is not good enough I think. As Oliver Torres went to Porto to get more minutes I think that Simeone wanted to get rid of Manquillo. Moreno is good but there are better and not so expensive LB in Spain.

In Chile, there's been talk about Madrid enquiring about Vidal's future.

He is 'the man'.

In all seriousness, I really like the fact that he is changing our image in the transfer market. For my mind we have always been a bit of soft touch. Not willing to pay the big fees or play the games with agents when it mattered, and acquiescing to players that want to leave. Woody has made it very clear that United will not be pushed around anymore. I think this is really important for the image of the club.

I see his goal here is to come out of the De Gea saga with United having (a) secured a good deal and (b) enhancing our reputation. This means not looking like we have to give Madrid what they want. It's about us getting what we want. I like it, I like it a lot. Getting Ramos would be a huge statement, and a pretty big dent to Perez's ego. I suspect this whole saga will make Real think twice about tapping up and poaching our players in the future. The so called "cordial relationship" we have had with Real seems to only result in them pilfering our ranks.

I also have faith he'll get the other transfers tied up pretty soon.

It would be strange after paying to get back Casemiro, besides there is not "non EU " place for him I think

So that means you can't get Otamendi without selling a non EU player first?
Right,at present they have 4: James, Danilo, Lucas Silva and Casemiro. Benitez wants to see them in the preseason in Australia but probably Silva will go on loan. Casemiro was on loan but to bring him back Madrid had to pay 7 m €. It would be weird to sell him (and give 7 m€ + to Porto ).

Go for Koscielny.
Seems like a good option , a player with experience and good ball skills but I find strange that they sign a 30 year old player who has no need to leave Arsenal after so long

I wonder why Benitez wouldn't want Otamendi, or maybe this is just a message put out there because Otamendi's agent has been pretty vocal about him not joining Real Madrid.

He wanted GARETH BARRY to replace Alonso at Liverpool.
