Manchester City are preparing to make a £50m bid for Wolfsburg's Kevin De Bruyne

Exclusive: Raheem Stelring could bank £4m of agent's fee if he joins Man City

50m is a big risk for city to take on KDB , he has been brilliant this season but that was in a league where bayern were the only serious competitors. `Plus he has struggled to find feet in the prem before.

35m is the most i'd be happy to pay for him, though 50 may be needed to sway wolfsburg as they are really intent on keeping him, they have CL also.

City's board:
Get Pogba? No.
Get Sterling? No.
feck it, just throw £50m to a player who had one good season but wasn't good enough for Chelsea.

Not taking anything away from De Bruyne, he had one of the best seasons in recent years from a player his age but £50m after 1 season? Silva is a better bet.

he was very good for Werder too, and made Genk champions in Belgium, on a very young age. Stand out player in the Belgian NT for the WC qualifiers. Not the first season he played at a very high level, although last year was exceptional.

Another potentially top class talent Chelsea have ruined?
How have we ruined him? He wasn't good enough. End of story. Didn't stand out at any of the small clubs he was loaned out to so he clearly had no chance at Chelsea.

why wait until now to let it be known that you want to leave ?

Marca claim to have so much inside knowledge, I don't get it sometimes.

Yeah but if we can get him for €17m that'd be better. Best going in with a lowish offer then negotiate to get a better deal, that's what I think we're trying to do with a few players.
That takes time and it doesn't help that everyone knows we've done very well financially this year with woody saying we have unlimited funds for the transfer kittky .

Earlier in the window Peter Lim came out and said that valencia wouldn't budge on Otamedi's release clause because "They have more than enough money to afford him"

20m euros isn't that high, considering the weakness of the euro now, I'd just match that if you want the player. Some people did get on his back last season for paying to much on certain players so i understand this approach, just don't think it's needed for 14m deal.

I have a good feeling about this week. Although I could be completely and utterly wrong, I think we'll get a chunk of our business done this week.
Well with players back from international obligations and training starting again, I'd say that'd a pretty good guess. More like Captain Obvious ey ;)

DDG tells LVG he wants to go to Madrid.

LVG says to him: "You shall go when Madrid gives enoguh money. You see, you wont go before that. Its our philosophy. We shall stick to it."

Well, not really. We've signed one player back in May and nothing since. Going by the evidence so far, it would be far more sensible to predict that we're signing no-one this week.

Well you don't offer for a car or house at the set price do you.

What about groceries? Or electronics? Contracts? We all pay set prices for many of the products that we purchase, these days.

Darmian was valued at £14m, why not just pay it and get on with it? Like I said, we'll end up paying £14m (or more) at the end, regardless.

I think, if the point you are making is that if we value a player at "x" and they are being sold for "x", we shouldn't haggle and just get it done, I'd agree. If you think we should pay what any club asks for any player, that's crazy.

I've like him but there isn't a hope he's worth £50m

No, I didn't say every player valuation should be met. Just referring to the Darmian case. Given how Torino's valuation seems to be reasonable, I don't see why we wouldn't just meet it from the outset.

@dwd If we met Torino's supposed valuation, why wouldn't they accept it? They seem to be keen on selling an asset that will bring them a great income, which, in turn, will be of great use for them in the future.

DDG tells LVG he wants to go to Madrid.
"You have shome ballsh telling Louis van Gaal thish," the big man replied. Without breaking eye contact, he tore away his perfectly pressed trousers and pristine white Y-fronts. Hands on hips, he continued. "However, theshe are ballsh. You shall be sheeing them every day until you sign a new contract with Manchester United. You shall remember them when you go home to your pop shtar girlfriend, when you go to shleep and when you wake up in the morning. You are mine for the nexsht year and you shall never forget it."

At least that's how I imagine contract negotiations with LVG go.
