Possibly. I don't think so personally, if we'd have agreed a fee then I see no reason for the deal not being concluded already. Liverpool have signed those players safe in the knowledge that Sterling will at some point leave for a fee around £40m, but that doesn't mean they already have a deal set in stone.

Hmm, maybe. I remember someone saying on here, it's similar to when Spurs just went and bought up before they sold Bale. You're probably right though, its more that Liverpool has said its going to have to be X amount for you to get him; and everyone knows you need homegrown players, so eventually you'll cough up.

I think he'll be a great signing for you; massive upgrade on Navas

Yeah definitely better than Navas on the right-wing even if his best position will be in the middle. He has the qualities to play in a fluid system and I think he and Silva could have some excellent link up in a front three playing behind Aguero or as the two attacking midfielders in a 4-4-2. I really hope we get him, I know some think he is overhyped but he has always impressed me when I've seen him and City really need a player like him.

To be honest, looking at some of the 'hot property' striker signings been made in the last couple of years (Demba Ba, Wilfred Bony, Rickie Lambert, etc.) it's probably made a lot of players that want game time incredibly wary. Fair play to Austin if he wants to go to a club he'll be guaranteed regular football, as West Brom have f**k all up front, even with Berahino. They're a well run club with terrific support. Could do a lot worse.
 
Looks like Spurs are after two Atletico players - Suarez and Alderweireld.

Just let van Persie run down his contract if we don't sign a new striker. We'd inevitably get a shit fee for him anyway.
