The article's almost certainly bollocks, but even if it were true, how would City be a joke for being interested in three of the world's best defenders? It's hardly as if they're some hidden gems first discovered by the scouts at United.

He publicly said he wanted Özil and Di Maria to stay as well iirc but it didn't stop them from bring sold in consecutive summers.
Yeah he also said he wants Ancelotti to stay next season....2 days later he was sacked.

According to reports from Spanish newspaper AS, Manchester United have put in a second bid in the region of €60m for Sergio Ramos, after their opening €50m bid rejected by Real Madrid.
60m€ is an amount to start to think about but surely United can afford 90. Adidas is paying! 
60 is probably around the limit for Ramos.
Hopefully that isn't true. We don't need to buy him for absurd amounts of money.
While I think he's a great player , bidding (if true), 50m for a 29 year old is a bit excessive for even Man United .
It's ridiculous. We've gone bonkers if we're bidding in that range. I'm hoping we've not (yet).
