While I think he's a great player , bidding (if true), 50m for a 29 year old is a bit excessive for even Man United .

I think Ramos is a worthy exception. As much as I like, we won't get to tick off all the points on the check list when making a big money signing. But Ramos for that price isn't the worst idea in the world.

I was starting to believe it might be true, but this is clear bullshit.

The AS article actually says we've bid roughly £35m and are willing to increase it to £42m. Sounds reasonable giving the opening bid.

The Sunday Times says it's increased from about £30m to £35m.

The truth may be somewhere lurking in the shadows.

Screw it lets get them all, Schneiderlin & Schweinsteiger and Ramos & Otamendi.

I suppose were making a statement of intent and to a degree it pleases me to give Madrid a bit of there own medicine . Madrid are a great club and when they want a player they tend to go in and get them regardless of the cost and maybe to get united back amongst the elite we may have to take a similar attitude at least for the next couple of windows .
I still find it odd that we are willing to make such a big offer for a player approaching his 30s with 2 years left on his deal .
As I have said in previous posts , van gaal as only 2 years left on his deal and he will want to leave with us as top dogs if possible (premier league that is) so I can see what he's trying to do . If we get Ramos and sweinstieger in , that's 2 great experienced performers in our ranks that could be good for us in Europe as we are lacking slightly in leaders in what would be the big games .
We will wait and see I suppose but I would be happy to get Ramos aboard all be it with raised eyebrows over the fee .

Schweitnstiger AND Schniederlin would be the perfect summer in terms of central midfielders. One will give us energy and tackling, and the other if he can perform at his best, will give us one elite level midfielder, even if it's not for that long.

Using Schneiderlinn as a backup option has the potential of going badly wrong. If Schweinsteiger turns us down what's to say Schneiderlinn will still be hanging on for us?
Yeah if that's our strategy it could backfire big time.

The 'Schneiderlin back up to Schweinsteiger' seems like a load of rubbish to me. It seems that Schneiderlin is as good as done, and I don't think that we would go that far with negotiations if he was just a back up option. I reckon we want both. We spent half of last season with our best striker playing CM, and with the added games this year there is certainly room for the two of them.

Good news. They write that Cristiano wants Ramos to stay at all costs.More pressure for Florentino

Do you think Ronaldo have that strong influence/power,so his demanding/wish can put pressure on president of club like Real Madrid?

Some expert claiming L'Equipe article is based on english papers,so its not their information. If thats the case then there is nothing new there.

No they didn't. They said British press have got it wrong about a fee being agreed, but it's a matter of time.

Not really. I imagine we would have given Schweinsteiger a deadline to make his decision. Also the reports seem to suggest that we have agreed a fee with Southampton and also had discussions with Schneiderlin regarding wages. I remain doubtful that we would pull out at such a late stage, just because we could sign Schweinsteiger. It would be a very unprofessional thing to do.

In that case it wouldn't be our strategy to have one as a backup for the other not working out, which is what I was referring to.
